Guest guest
Bhakthiyalli Bhaganna Shri Gopala Dasaru Period: 1722-1762 Aagataadi trikalajnam aagamaadi vishaaradam Tyaaga-bhOga samaayutkam Bhagannaarya gurum bhaje gOpa prakara sankAsham gOpAlarchana tatparamgOdEva vandya pAdArjam gOpAlaKhya gurum Bhaje -Chippagiri Mohan Haridasaru have played an important role in spreading the tatvavada of Shri Madhwacharya. They are acted as a Catalysts by writing thousands of Kruthigalu, Suladis, Ughabogagalu in the crystal clear Kannada language and they made easy to study the Philosophy even for a common man. Shri Gopaladasaru is one among them who has written many kruthis ,Suladis and Ughabogalu. Before he became Sri Gopaladasaru, he has struggled a lot for the survival. He was born in the village called Mosarakallu in Raichur Distirct. His mother has given basic education to him and along with his brothers . She also performed Dharama Upanayana(collective upanayana) to his sons. Due to family problems, his family shifted to Uttanur Gadwal taluk which is present in Andhrapradesh. He started practicing Astrology in that place. He earned good name in and around the villages. Many people used to visit him for the Astrology predictions. One famous land lord called RamaBhopala was impressed with the astrology of Bhaganna and he has given lot of money and lands to him with this Bhaganna has over come his financial problems. When ever he is free he used to write devaranamagalu under the Aninkithanama of Venkatakrishna (Till now only one kruthi protected under this Ankithanama). After some years staying in Uttanur he shifted to a place called Adawani where his friend “Panganama dasaru†is working as Dewan. There also he started practicing the astrology. With a short span of time his name became popular throughout that place. In one fine day, when Bhaganna was practicing Astrology, Sri Vijayadasaru visited Bhaganna and said with his magical sweet voice “Bhaganna what ever the business you did for all these years is enough, close your business and follow meâ€. Those words hit Bhaganna at right time and right place of mind which made him to follow shri Vijayadasaru without second thought. Baghanna did not say anything and followed the master. Shri Vijayadasaru bestowed him as Shri GopalaVithala ankita and Bhaganna became famous Gopala Dasaru from that day. Guru blessing did the perfect job and as per hari sankalpa Bhaganna known to all people as Gopaladasaru. Sri Gopladasaru has written many Ughaboghagas, Devaranamagalu and Pada Suladigalu under the Gopalvittala Ankitha. He has written many krithis on his niyata-guru Sri Vijayarayaru. Under the guideance Shri Gopaladasaru many Haridasaru nourished. Among them, Helavanakatti Giriyamma and Shri Vyasatatwagnaru (popularly known as AIJEE Swamigalu), and Shri Jagannathadasaru. All these three showered their great respects towards him. He also initiated his brothers in the Dasa deeshka they are - Seenappa, Dasappa, Rangappa with Dasa ankitha as "Varada Gopala Vittala" Guru Gopala Vittala" and "Tande Gopala Vittala" respectively and made them also keerthanakaras One day Shri Satyabodha Theertharu Swamiji of Uttaradimath visited the Raichur to show the rare-greatness of Dasaru and his two brothers to public . He made them sit in three rooms separately and asked them to write on any particular subject . After some time all of three came out and showed the swamiji about their kruthi. After seeing kruthis of three Dasaru, Swamigalu surprised to see that kruthi. All the three have written the one kruthi. One wrote the pallavi and first stanza, second dasaru written second stanza and third stanza by last dasaru. By seeing this swamigalu praised them as you three should remain as Kamadhenu, Kalpavruksha, and Chintamani in our math . Shri Gopaladasaru travelled all over the country from Rameshwaram to Badari. He used to visit Tirumala every year for the 'Brahmostvam' of Lord Sri Venkateshwara. The greatest contribution of Shri Gopaladasaru to our society was that he has donated 40 years from his age to Manavi Shrinivasacharyaru who became popular as “Shri Jagannathadasaâ€. Who later wrote HariKathaamuruthasara which is one of the magnum opus in Madhwa Philosophy. Shri Jagannatha Dasaru quoted about Shri Gopaladasaru like this “Gopaladasaraya Ninnaya-paada Naa pondidenO Nishchayaa….†. In Gadwal till today we can see his Tambura ,Devarapettige in the house of Sri Venkobhadasaru. We can also see the paintings on Shri Vijayadasara Chakrabja Mandala and “ Brahmandaâ€. By seeing this paintings we can ascertain his art of painting. All works of Shri Gopaladasaru is the inspirations from his guru Shri Vijayadasaru. Shri Gopaladasaru has written many with his beautiful writings Shri Gopala Dasaru is used praised his beloved guru.
