A Biennial event to mark transfer of rights of management of Krishna Temple

Sri Madhwacharya installed the Kadagolu ShreeKrishna in Udupi Ksehtra. This Kshetra is a divine gift to all Madhvasa. Everyday the pontiffs perform puja to shree krishna for more than 14 times. Apart from existing pujas other Utsavas. Are also peformed. Among the pujas the Paryaya is one of the most important event. The Madwacharya founded the Ashta Maths(Eight Maths) He allowed 2 months to each Peethadipathi to perform Krishnana puja. After some years Bhavisamira Sri Vadirajaru(AD 1480-1600) changed the Paryaya system to 2 years.

 

For the Past 700 years the pujas to Sree Krishna are going on. Now this is 34th Chakara ( 1 Chakara =16 Years i.e.. one Round of Astamaths pujas to Sree Krishna) Till today the Paryaya system will commences with the glittering ceremony. All the peetadipathis who will be sanchara to propagate Madhwa Philosophy will be attend this Paryaya function.

 

After four days after Makara Sankramana the outgoing Peetadhipathi will handover the Paryaya to Incoming Peetadhipathi. Generally the dates will be 17-18 of January. The preparation will start one year back. In this programme Tulsi, Dal, Rice , wood, and food grains are mainly used.

 

The incoming Peetadhipathi will go on to pilgrimage collecting food grains and money. Prior to one day before taking the Paryayapeeta, the two Peetadhipathi's after Choornothsava, Ellu-utsava, Brahmostsava, they get ready for the main function.

 

 

 

Next day morning after doing Nirmalya Visarjana, the outgoing Paryayapeetadhipati welcomes incoming Peetadhipathi. Previous night the outgoing Peetadhipati will take bath in DandaTheertha and comes to Sri Krishna Sannidhana. Other Peetadhipati's comes to invite Lord Sri Krishna. From there The two Peetadhipathi's will join together and witness the ceremony.

 

At this function there will be VedaGhosha's, Bajans, various Musical Instruments will be played, Ambari's, 60 to 70 thousand devotee's will participate in this function. It is a feast for the the eyes. Behind the Lord Sri Krishna In Golden Pallakki both Yathigalu will arrive at the Car Street there they will take the blessings from Sri Anantheshwara and Sri Chandramouleshwara.

 

After doing charitable acts the incoming Peetadhipathi will seek the Sri Krishnana Darshana through Kanakana Kindi. From there he will come to the Main door of Sri Krishanana Temple. From there the Paryaya Peetadhipathi will hold the hand of incoming Peetadhipathi and they will reach SriKrishna Math via Sri Madhwasarovara. They seek the blessings From Kadugolu ShriKrishna and Shri Pranadevaru .

 

Next programme is Peeta-Rohana. On the Shri Madhwacharya Sarvajna Peeta the incomming Peetadhipathi will keep the Devarapettige and pray. After that the outgoing Peetadhipathi will sit on the peeta and he will hold the hands of the incoming Paryaya Peetadhipathi. The outgoing peetadhipathi welcomes the incoming peetadhipathi and he will make him to sit on the Sarvajna Peeta. From this onwards he will become the Paryaypeethadhipati. It is believed that Shri Madhwacharya will be present inside them. The outgoing pontiff will also hand over the Acharya Sri Madhwa's Akshaya Patre and Gharbhagudi key's to the

ParyayPeetadhipati .This ends the PeethaaRohana function.

 

After wards these Peethadhipathi's will attend the Darbar at Rajangana and give the discourses and explain the forthcoming plans. In this Darbar all other Peetadhipati's will also participate. Pandits and Dignitaries from various parts will deliver discourses.

 

This year on January 18 2010, Virodhinama Samvatsara, Uttarayana, Shishira rutu, Maagha maasa, Shukla Paksha, Sri Puthiger Mathadeesharu H.H. Sri Sri Sugunendra Thirtharu handover the paryaya peetha to H.H. Sri Sri Laxmivara Thirtha Swamiji of Sri Shiroor Mutt. This is Sri Sri Laxmivara Thirtha Swamiji’s third "Paryaya"

 

Brief introduction of H.H. Sri Sri Laxmivara Thirtha Swamiji

 

He was born to Sri Vittala Acharya and Smt Kusumamma on June 8, 1964 at Madamakki in Kundapura Taluk (krodi Samathsara Vyshaka Bahula 13). He ordained Sanyasa Diksha by Sri Sri Vishwothama Thirtha of Sri Sode Mutt in 1971, on July 2. He studied Veda from Kodangala Sri Anantha Ramacharya. He was constantly guided under the tutelage of Sri Sri Vishwothama Thirtha. He also was guided by Sri Narayana Tantri, Adde Sri Vedavyasa Acharya and Alevoor Sri Seetharam Acharya. He is also been a disciple of Sri Vidyasagara Thirtha of Krishnapura Mutt and Sri Satya Pramoda Thirtha of Sri Uttaradi Mutt.

 

Let us seek the blessing of Lord Krishna through this paryaya and pray for the loka kalyana karyagalu from present seer through jnaana satra.
