Guest guest
Dear List, Here is an excellent link to a site offering free music for download. Here is the website, and below is a synopsis of the music offered: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/34/rudy_tanzi.html The Quiet Mind Project is the creation of Rudy Tanzi, a solo pianist who has recorded over a dozen CD's. The Quiet Mind Project consists of extemporized piano pieces that could best be characterized as free-form musical treks. None of these treks are fully formulated in advance. Recurring themes are played live in the moment. To perform these pieces requires a mind completely free of thought. They must be played from the " inside-out " and not with the aim of attaining external validation from listeners. These pieces are unpredictable, but not chaotic. The aim of the music of The Quiet Mind Project is to promote in both the player and the listener a sense of inner silence, one that fosters the " quiet mind " . 20th century philospher, Krishnamurti's " quiet mind " is a state of being that permits higher awareness and deeper consciousness (without the need for drugs). Carlos Casteneda described this process as " turning off the internal dialogue " . If a piece is successful, a heightened sense of awareness and energy is conveyed to the listener. Part jazz, part neo-classical, part ambient, and part dream-fusion, the music of The Quiet Mind Project intermixes various themes in a free format so that each piece evolves without interference from pre-conceived thoughts. One final note: this is not simply relaxation music; it is not a new age formulation intended to numb you. The purpose is to awaken a more intense state of inner awareness by temporarily shutting down the internal dialogue that pervades the everyday working human mind. It is hoped that ultimately The Quiet Mind Project will foster a level of musical awareness that will foster in the listener a spirit of kindness and a deeper sense of humanity in those who choose to listen.
