Guest guest
Hi Let me try and give you answers. * The mind has a constant chatter. It drifts from one subject to the other making all sorts of connections. This is the nature of the mind. So one cannot fight what is the nature of something. So we work with it and around it. * Watching the mind starts to quieten this chattering. With practice it becomes easier. By watching we don't fight or supress the mind, we just watch. * There are several meditation methods which teach watching the mind, including Shoonya meditation, TM and so on * The quieter the mind is the calmer our thinking becomes. When we are really agitated or angry, we can barely think, the mind is chattering away at a top speed. * Meditation slows down body activity. So normally it is not done after a meal as this will cause digestive problems. Depending upon the type of meditation technique, the time scale differs. This is because of the slow down of metabolism. Yoga Nidra is more relaxing than sleep, so over use may cause the body to slow down to levels we don't want it to * The other side to this, we find out that all the chattering that goes on is not reality, it is just the mind, we tend to react and see the world through this chattering. * I do not want to specify methods of doing this over the net, it is better to learn it under the guidance of a proper teacher This does not purport to be the perfect reply, I put across a few points.
