Guest guest
Hi Leaf, Well I wonder whether people need teachers. Every now and then I meet a person who seems to glow with spiritual experience. A lot of these people never heard of the traditions we discuss here. They never deliberately practiced anything. I imagine they are just ordinary people who, for some reason, started keeping their attention focused on certain aspects of things when they were little and never let go. Maybe they felt that God was always around and kept this conviction with them and by the time they grew up, they had fully surrendered themselves without having any idea that the process had happened. Yes, I imagine that's what happens with most of these folks. If you believe that God is here with you right now, and always is, and you felt that all the time, like a certain knowledge in the back of your mind, that would be enough. Everything would unfold from that as daily life goes on. It would take you over in a way. Don't you think so? It's called surrender in the Hindu tradition but it doesn't need a name and I bet it happens to a lot of folks who never heard the name. Well, here I am babbling and this isn't helping you. You're asking what to do. Hmmm. Lots of teachers sell CDs and audio tapes. Or you could find a teacher who lives in your area and go in person. Personal contact is probably best, all other things being equal. May I ask, where do you live? And what do you hope to get from a teacher? Maybe the answers will help somebody here come up with a good suggestion for you. Regards, Rob P.S. I guess you read these messages with a program. If we can make them easier to read, please say how. - Joe0464 Realization Saturday, July 28, 2001 3:08 PM (no subject) Hello, I have a question. I've heard from a few places that you are suppose to have a teacher when you are trying to get to enlightenment, some kind of spiritual teacher or something. I can't get a teacher, and the internet isn't giving me enough imformation. What should I do? I am blind, so I can't read any books. Please help me. Guest guest
Dear Rob What a truly lovely response to Leaf; I should say that is the whole of it right there. I am touched by your words and the way in which you have shared that with this individual. Warmly Margit - Rob Sacks Realization Saturday, July 28, 2001 2:36 PM Re: Teacher?
