Guest guest
Hi Ken, Thanks for telling us about yourself. I'm curious about your stopping TM. Did it really stop completely, or were there times, maybe half consciously, when the mantra was said or a little meditation took place? I've never noticed the crackling or tearing you describe, but my vision gets affected when my mind becomes quiet. Peripheral vision seems to get wider and colors become more intense. And I went through a period when I cried a lot, sometimes uncontrollably for hours (sometimes in public, it just came on) when a sort of awareness of God flooded me. All these messages are making me feel like I ought to do some work as editor of the website, so I just looked for articles to reprint about people's experiences at Goenka Vipassana r etreats. So far I found: http://www2.nsknet.or.jp/~tasse/buddha.html http://www.firehorse.com.au/philos/vipassana/welcome.html http://spiritualcompany.com/VipassanaExperience.htm Regards, Rob - " Wieland " <wieland7 <Realization > Sunday, July 29, 2001 8:57 PM Re: (no subject) > To all, > > I have been invigorated and informed by the ongoing meditation discussion. > Meditation, Yoga, and going Vegetarian have been the most positive feedback > experiences of my life thusfar. > > I had many years ago taken the TM program (simply received my mantra and > practiced meditation twice daily for 20 minutes for several years).
