Guest guest
Hello, I have a question. I'm having problems with something. I have outbursts of anger a lot of times, and I know that to get to enlightenment, I have to stop those. I have them for no apparent reason. Then, I feel really bad. Please help me. Guest guest
Thanks for the warm welcome, Rob. > Occurs to me that > many people who are widely regarded as fully > self-realized (whatever that means exactly) came > to their realization spontaneously, without teachers. > Three that come to mind are Sri Ramana Maharshi, > Sri Shivabalayogi, and Sri H.L. Poonja. I have read references to Poonja as a disciple of Maharshi. Is it just that Poonja has the same " style " ? > > I sometimes wonder what happens to children who > have similar experiences if they happen to live in > the United States or other countries whose cultures > don't recognize such phenomena. Perhaps some people are misdiagnosed as in depression when they are " just " beginning to realize that their happiness doesn't lie where they thought it did. Guest guest
Hi Leaf, I'm the same way. I've always had a very bad impulsive temper. Many times I've suddenly lashed out at people and regretted it. It's hard to give anybody advice about a thing like this because people get mad for a lot of different reasons. The thing that stands out for me in your message is: > I have them for no apparent reason. It might help a lot if you could figure out the reason. Sometimes talking with a therapist or counselor or even a friend can help you do that. > I know that to get to enlightenment, I > have to stop those. Well, actually, I think it's the other way around. As your periods of silence get deeper and longer, I think your temper will bother you less. I find that if I meditate for an hour in the morning, I'm much calmer and less likely to get upset the whole rest of the day. Rob, definitely out of his depth - Joe0464 Realization Sunday, July 29, 2001 11:47 PM (no subject) Hello, I have a question. I'm having problems with something.
