Guest guest
> <http://home.att.net/~garyscho> > Dear Gary While in this discussion I have a Q to ask. There have been times when in anger I have sat and watched the anger and dissolved into laughter when I became aware that I watching my own anger. During meditation I have become aware of the silence and thoroughly enjoyed it. There have been times when I did not even know I was silent but realised after the event. The Q is, " Who is watching whom? or What is the seer and what is the seen? If the silence was the 'Self' then who was seeing it? Experience and deductions based on them can be problematic (as I see it). It is like the story of the blind men feeling an elephant. We may miss the whole picture as we experience only a small portion, even that small portion could be misinterpreted. Sometimes we may need to base these on some guidelines or framework for understanding the experience. The Q of " How will I know it, if I am (e.g. enlightened) " . A possible answer is " I will know, if that Q were to arise maybe I am not there " . I do like debates, but do not like arguments. I like sharing and being part of someone's sharing. I have been contributing in all earnest. If I have hurt some feelings, my apologies.
