The Joke is on You!

Life is a computer game [or movie] with multiple endings. According to the

choices you make you end up in a different path. So there are choices to be

made at particular junctures or crossroads but after the choice has been

made you have to act your part according to script and plot.

You have another choice, however. To refuse to play any more. This is

partly like the game of hide and seek. God or your 'Real Self' hides and

you seek. If you manage to find, the game is over.

Or alternatively you could refuse to play by keeping the mind blank as much

as possible. This too has worked for many people. The blank mind results

in a slow lifting of the veil or spell and you see the Reality.

Another tactic is to play hard until you tire of it all [remember

Shakespeare's 'Surfeit'] and the vacuum thus produced in time sucks in the

Reality.

Whatever you do, whatever your plot or story line has you believing as

being the right path. Keep in mind one thing. Don't take things too

seriously. Its all a game. The joke is on you and the joker, who did it to

you, is also you!

Hi,

I love this computer game. The sound

quality is amazingly good! And you can

put it on automatic and it plays by itself

while you watch. It's so cool!

Hi Jan,

Isn't it amazing how well this metaphor works?

Maya = computer game, Brahman = computer,

our consciousness = an attribute of the computer,

our bodies = little figures dancing on the

computer screen.

Surely if the ancient rishis had owned computers,

they would have said in the Upanishads pretty

much the same thing you say here! :)

The Joke is on You!

This reminds me of another analogy I once heard of:

That trying to find the soul in the body is like trying to find the music of

a radio. It would be futile to take a radio apart piece by piece in order to

find the music. The analogy is that our bodies are radios each tuned to a

different station (and the station can change based on our actions - karma)

and through us comes the different songs of our lives. But all these

different songs are still generated by the same electromagnetic radiation

(i.e. GOD or our true Self). We just need to realize that we are the

electromagnetic radiation and not the radio or the song.

Namaste,

Ken
