Guest guest
Dear all,Whether it is our immediate loved ones affected in NewYork or Washington, ornot, we all are affected.Pull a blade of grass and you shake the Universe.I was closely involved in an earthquake in India where over 20,000 peoplewere killed and several thousands more injured, rendered homeless. So I knowfrom first hand what catastrophe feels like.In these moments, my being goes out to all who have been directly andindirectly affected by the destruction in New York, Washington andelsewhere. The repercussions are going to be global, both in terms of conflictspreading, ( I would not bet on Afghanistan, surviving as a nation), as wellas through the effect on financial markets.Oil prices have jumped, the US dollar is crashing in inter-currency rates. For all of us, the way of our existence is going to be changed, has beenchanged, maybe for ever.In such times, seek support, be with yourself and know that, even though itmight seem impossible to accept right now, everything will be alright.Everything is alright. If for anybody, I could play any role to support or console in thesedifficult times, I am totally available.Meanwhile, I understand New York has a tremendous shortage of blood.I got in touch with the Red Cross, who are at the moment are looking tomobilize supplies, within the US, rather than Internationally. You guys out there in the US, get to the nearest Red Cross/ blood donation center anddo what is appropriate for you.In sorrowSandeep

And it's about goddamn time as far as I'm concerned. Idiots! People want to play by nice rules with these idiots and that's how this shit happens in the first place. You don't play " how-now-brown-cow " with an idiot. It doesn't work. Guest guest
Dear Sandeep, Thank you for your human document, which finally revealed your humanity and wisdom to me and dispelled my lingering suspicion that your previous emails on prattling were send ups of Eastern spiritual literature written by a bright but glib undergraduate. > > In such times, seek support, be with yourself and know that, even though it > might seem impossible to accept right now, everything will be alright. > Everything is alright. > This paragraph, for me, epitomizes the strengths and weaknesses of your writing. I agree that " everything is alright " , but only after identifying its proper context as my relationship to the world. Everything is alright WITH ME, if I can view the events of September 11 with a certain equanimity that lies even deeper than my sadness. Your writing shows enough insight that I am reasonably confident that everything is also alright with you, in that sense. However, everything is not alright with the world. People are suffering and their suffering is real. It may very well be that some of their suffering is unnecessary, that it could be seen through if they were more enlightened. But given their endarkenment, their suffering exists, which is something that no enlightened person can view with indifference. To Rob: to your question about why I want to clarify the language of spirituality, let me say that terrorists, or at least their leaders, read much the same spiritual literature that you do, but take it in a fanatical direction. That is why reducing ambiguity is necessary, and reading the current spiritual literature is not just the sweet exploration that you would like it to be. Guest guest
Hiya Gary, - Gary Schouborg Realization Wednesday, September 12, 2001 08:59 PM Re: Destruction Dear Sandeep,Thank you for your human document, which finally revealed your humanity andwisdom to me and dispelled my lingering suspicion that your previous emailson prattling were send ups of Eastern spiritual literature written by abright but glib undergraduate. <s> Let it be now Gary. When you are ready to listen, we will walk together again. And this "readiness" is not upto "Gary" to achieve. > > In such times, seek support, be with yourself and know that, even though it> might seem impossible to accept right now, everything will be alright.> Everything is alright.> This paragraph, for me, epitomizes the strengths and weaknesses of yourwriting. I agree that "everything is alright", but only after identifyingits proper context as my relationship to the world. Everything is alrightWITH ME, if I can view the events of September 11 with a certain equanimitythat lies even deeper than my sadness. Your writing shows enough insightthat I am reasonably confident that everything is also alright with you, inthat sense. However, everything is not alright with the world. People aresuffering and their suffering is real. San: From an entity point of view, who is denying your statement? With entitification, is the automatic vulnerability to suffering. A "wave" in it's "waviness", is immediately vulnerable to oscillations between the heights of the crest and the depths of the crash. As Ocean, the depth is the Ocean, the heights is the Ocean. And this very suffering, this oscillations between happiness and suffering, is an intrinsic part of the perfection of Totality. What must happen will inevitably happen, without exception. There is nokind of intensity of supposed volition of any supposed individual that canin the least alter the inexorable causation of the Totality. No one canwill anything but what the Totality causes him to will!-Ramesh It might be very difficult for you Gary to apperceive right now, but that hijacker who steered the plane into the World Trade Centre building was also following the will of Totality. It may very well be that some oftheir suffering is unnecessary, San: Oh very much necessary. Otherwise it can never occur. that it could be seen through if they weremore enlightened. But given their endarkenment, their suffering exists, which is something that no enlightened person can view with indifference. San: That's why Gary I suggested to you, let's forget this enlightenment game, for you and I are talking about totally different things. With apperception, there is no "me" left, to either be indifferent or be passionate. And without the "me", can there be any "other"? And yet Totality functions in complete harmony through such a being, moment after moment after moment. And momentous movements within phenomenality, are noticed in the milieu of such a being. Now you might say to hell with apperception, I don't to be indifferent, I want to be passionate and in this case, kick some ass. Fine. That "thought" too is Impersonal functioning through an appropriately conditioned body-mind complex labeled "Gary", to produce such thoughts/ actions like kicking asses. My suggestion Gary, don't get het up on the doing/non-doing, indifference/passion etc etc. Look at whether there is anybody to do the doing or to do the non-doing. That's all which is the key to the door. I am reminded about the American poet Cummings.. If you can be, just be. Otherwise, cheerfully go about your life interfering in anything, everything. (Paraphrased a bit) Cheers Sandeep
