Guest guest
Judi -- I like what he said about a feeling of deep peace, he writes in a nice, poetic way. But why would a feeling of deep peace be any more real than a feeling of anger? Each occurs from me and of me ... each are my doing ... A person's not just an appearance -- he/she's a doing. The persons appearing, and the objects appearing to the persons, are equally my doing. The awareness to which an object appears is also my doing. Who is doing awareness involves no activity, and isn't a subject or an object -- each of which requires the other ... -- Dan > Gregory Goode wrote: > > > > This really is Jean Klein's teaching. The person is not the center of sentience or awareness. Rather, the person is an appearing object. The person, the ego, the mind, the world - they merely APPEAR. They appear to that which never suffers, is never absent, which never resists, which is clarity itself. The contraction of thoughts, feelings and sensations that appear to make the " me " a real thing -- these melt way peacefully, without even a goodbye kiss. Guest guest
Good point Dan. My understanding is that Jean Klein instructs the questioner to " see " the feeling, the emotion, the thought, and in the " seeing " you are outside it, you are aware of it, you are not involved in it. For me, the " seeing " is the " freeing " Stuff comes up in my body/mind. There are memories of past experiences but there is no repetition. Life never repeats itself...never, regardless how we like to make it so. Every moment in life is brand new. Every situation is fresh. Every momentary experience the body/mind has is stored in the mind of the person having that experience. The body/mind has a beginning, a middle and an end. The body is neutral. The mind is energy in motion. The mind and the body are one, not two. Reality is here and now, always has been, always will be. Consciousness and it's object thought are one, not two. Silence/Love never leaves us...we leave it. That is my story and I am sticking to it. :-) Love, Michael At 10:46 AM 4/30/2002, you wrote: Judi -- I like what he said about a feeling of deep peace, he writes in a nice, poetic way. Guest guest
Thanks, Michael! Well-stated and clear. What you say about freedom being nonrepetitive rings quite true here! Being stuck in repetition is an attempt to avoid losing the familiar and known -- Repeated are the strategies to try to maintain control of internal and external happenings ... The familiar, the repeating, seem to keep me in a mold -- seem to keep me from breaking free -- from learning that I'm not who I thought I was, not doing what it seemed to me I was doing ... One moment of learning, and there's no me situated in the familiar and repeating, the attempt to maintain control isn't done by a me after all ...
