Guest guest
Hi dan .. interesting you should mention this as I take photos of "rocks" too .. people looking through my photos go "oh .. its a rock" then quickly move on to the next one .. but sometimes I just feel drawn to photograph them and when I get the photos back I can "see" why .. I might see (this is a little difficult to explain) its face, or that it looks like a dog, or maybe its texture and colours will jump out at me, each one is different .. Im not drawn to do it very often .. but I enjoy the exercise and the anticipation of seeing what will show up in the photo .. blessings .. deb dan330033 I suggest taking a picture of a rock in deep meditation. There are already so many pictures of humans in enlightened postures.I suggest a search for keyword "Ansel Adams" and see what you come up with. He made some excellent photos of some very enlightened rocks. At least they looked enlightened to me.What do I know?Peace,Dan
Guest guest
Hi Deb -- Yup, I know what you mean. Ansel would stand in the same place for hours on end, waiting for the light to be just right. That one moment when the rock would smile in full enlightenment. Enlightenment has no divisions of existing, nonexisting, human and nonhuman. So calling it enlightenment is a minimization of its totality. Still, of course, people need to use words, and need to imagine a relationship with someone who embodies that quality they've invented. When there's no relationship involved, rocks don't just look enlightened, they sing!
