Guest guest
Gene: Because identity... is a composite of memories, current reactions are based on the past. This should be easy to see. If one does not like, or enjoy, the reactions of the now, the components of identity, which may be 'viewed' as frames of memory, may be edited, and in this, is identity refined. Each frame of memory has two components; one component is 'what actually happened', which is the 'raw data' of experience. The other component is 'the meaning of what happened', and this is laid atop the first component. 'Meaning' in this sense of use, includes 'value judgments', or 'value tags' as I call them. Here is the gist: To refine current identity, remove the 'meaning' of what happened, leaving only 'what actually happened'. You may have noticed, that for some people, each and every event has a meaning, and for some people, the meaning of each type of experience, is exactly the same, and this trend leads to an identity which is unusually 'idiosyncratic'...very unique, and thus... entirely predictable. Such an identity can be used... and by this, I mean that 'others' can exploit, use...that identity... like a soccer-ball, which will always 'obey' when kicked. Who can blame such a one, for screaming in pain? Sure, it may be fun and even educational to have such an obedient and reactive identity to kick around... after all, do we not all have such a component in our own identities? Nonetheless, it is probably 'better' to treat the reactionary one, with the same issue of compassion desired for oneself. Karta: good advise G: But that does not mean, that fun is not allowed! I wish to point out, that the identity of the 'human football' craves constant confirmation, in the form of attack... and so the reactive one, will always find one or more 'victimizers', from which to draw the energy of reaction. The 'trial balloon' which is launched by the 'professional victim', may look like harmless fun, or sincere inquiry, but is actually a 'troll', as in the action of the fisherman who drags the lure in the water, hoping a fish will bite. ----- This insight is the basis for the internet maxim; > " Do not feed the trolls " . Karta: yes, there all kind of trolls; not just 'victims' looking for a beating, but trolls who need attention, or the ones who thrives on creating chaos, or looking for disciples etc from the Webster: 3 a : to fish for by trolling b : to fish by trolling in <troll lakes> c : to pull through the water in trolling <troll a lure> intransitive senses 1 : to move around : RAMBLE 2 : to fish by trailing a lure or baited hook from a moving boat awareness-peace-love, Karta
