The only requirement is to stop mental chatter

Follow the steps for a life that's not sadder

 

1. First we must realize that our power is less

And that all unwanted thinking is a duress

 

2. In order to cure this affliction of verse

Depend on the Eternal to end that curse

 

3. Make a decision to turn ourselves over

Absolute silence the mind will not rover

 

4. Don't be fearful when taking an inventory

Even those nice thoughts are a blue story

 

5. Admit to the a friend we're out of control

Humbling confession cleanses our soul

 

6. Those defects that are causing a lot mentations

When gone we'll be ready for great celebrations

 

7. Humbly ask for shortcomings to remove

A mind that is clear is right in the groove

 

8. Make a list of thoughts that have harmed

Know about them means they're disarmed

 

9. Making amends with meditation on metta

Our psyches will feel a whole lot better

 

10. When doing a mindfulness attempt

If we screw up don't have contempt

 

11. Pray to be free of modifications mental

But let there be no pain and very gentle

 

12 When we succeed we'll tell all the world

How it is with peaceful mind unswerled

 

13. If the mind continues to be wild and woolly

Repeat those 12 steps but do it more fully
