Guest guest
Dearest brother or sister that asked to have me leave this group. Why don't you surface and have a dialogue about the aforesaid issue. I previously said that if my dear friend Rob ever asks me to leave the group I will. Whoever you are I dont see you offering anything uplifting on this group. May you be healthy May you be happy May you be peaceful Free from suffering and the causes of suffering. Hi Phyllis: This is how an Buddhist dictionary defines it. mettá: 'loving-kindness', is one of the 4 sublime abodes (brahma- vihára, q.v.). http://www.budsas.org/ebud/bud-dict/dic3_m.htm Some Buddhist teachers have their students use metta as their prime meditation object. If works real well when someone is upset with themselves or others. It also builds concentration and brings tranquility in one's meditation practice. Try is and tell us how it affected you? I now start each sitting with it first on myself, then my wife, my parents and all beings. After each sitting or before I try to remember to dedicate any merit to all beings in the creation.
