You asked

>what does it mean this "rebirth"?

Being in 'existence' is a dynamic passing of a sequence of

discrete conscious moments!!! The forces & causes of e.g. craving, hate,

and confusion imbedded in the prior conscious moment, conditions the

arising itself & the characteristics of the next conscious moment...

So it goes on. In this way 'one' is 'reborn' in each moment!

Nothing other than this transient conditioning, is transmitted from

moment to moment... No stable same entity, identity or personality

can be found in this ever ongoing flux, which is stilled only in Nibbana

by the ending of craving, even for this (transient) existence itself!

This Calmed, Cooled & Stilled Ceasing of repeated rebirth = Samsara is like:

Release from the two prisons of innner body & external world.

Release from the three afflictions of painful, pleasurable & neutral feelings.

Release from the six noises of perception by eye, ear, nose, tongue, body & mind.

Release from the three ever slaveries of mental, verbal & bodily construction.

Release from the six disturbances of visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory,

tactile & mental consciousness...

In short total & final relinquishment from the five clusters of clinging ...

And simultaneously like - an Entrance - into absolute & irreverible:

formless, sensationless, deathless, silent, free, blissful Peace...

May all being be thus calmed : - ]
