Guest guest
Rabbi Moshe took a trip to a strange land. He took a donkey, a rooster, and a lamp. Since he was a Jew, he was refused hospitality in the village inns, so he decided to sleep in the woods. He lit his lamp to study the holy books before going to sleep, but a fierce wind came up, knocking over the lamp and breaking it. The rabbi decided to turn in, saying, "All that God does, he does well." During the night some wild animals came along and drove away the rooster and thieves stole the donkey. Moshe wake up, saw the loss, but still proclaimed easily, "All that God does, he does well." The rabbi then went back to the village where he was refused lodging, only to learn that enemy soldiers had invaded it during the night and killed all the inhabitants. He also learned that these soldiers had traveled through the same part of the woods where he lay asleep. Had his lamp not been broken he would have been discovered. Had not the rooster been chased, it would have crowed, giving him away. Had not the donkey been stolen, it would have brayed. So once more Rabbi Moshe declared, "All that God does, he does well!" Guest guest
Dearest Brother Michael: Thanks for your 'BE MODEST' advice. I am into noticing what ever appears on the screen of consciousness and as I take one step at a time I know that I will reach the nibbana destination. What is your practice like? Guest guest
Dear Michael: Dear Alton hindrances remembering myself constantly not to take the different "films" on face value to remind myself they are just illusions the fact that most socalled humans prefer to live a life of conditioned machines instead of waking up the fact that most humans prefer to live like the oystrich and put their heads in the sand the fact that most humans do not use their possibilites to discover that whats going in the last 20 years is a giant trap When I read this my first take was to remember a quote from Nisargadatta. "Worry about yourself" Now because I chose to comment on the aforesaid I too am projecting my own conditioning on to you. I am aware of my projections and wonder if you too are aware of your projections? dear alton alton what is your instinct telling you about whats going on out there everything is a fake There is nothing going on out there as everything is happening in Alton's consciousness and it is inside not outside. I came to that conclusion not only intellectually but realized that it was so when I saw parts of the universe that was as least as real as what I perceive on the outside, inside my psyche. Don't you see that it is our conditioning that leads to our opining? If that was not so then we all would view issues in similar fashion. all the best in love in GD michael
