I was out of town without a PC all week. In fact I'm more than fine -- I was hanging out with a jnani all week and experiencing the power of the presence (as they used to say about Ramana Maharshi) in industrial-strength doses. Needless to say, I didn't send that email even though it seeemed to come from my address. Some spammer was pretending to be me. I wonder if provides us with any security options to prevent that. Does anyone know? Realization [Realization ] On Behalf Of KOMO kASHA Thursday, June 16, 2005 2:13 AM Realization Re: Fw: }>Fg<{ Rob are you alright? Guest guest
Phew Rob: That took a load off my consciouness. How about deleting those posts and taking Mark Twain off your members list so that I can post from emails. I asked you 3 times so far. I cannot delete the Mark Twain membership because that email address no longer exists. Much appreciation if you help me out. Glad you are OK. Guest guest
> Phew Rob: That took a load off my consciouness. Heh. Did you really imagine that I would post a thing like that? Why in the world would I do that? This PC is infected with a horrible virus that I've been unable to get rid of. Maybe the virus sent that message. It's beginning to look like I may have to reformat this hard disk. I'm starting to think that the security holes that Microsoft leaves in its products are just unacceptable. I switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox yesterday, and I'm even thinking of getting a Mac. > How about deleting those posts and taking Mark > Twain off your members list so that I can post from > emails... I just did those things. I tried removing Mark Twain once before but for some reason I couldn't do it. I can't remember what happened. In any case, he's gone now. Why in the world would I do that?<<<< Knowing my own mind and those that I have observed I can say that anyone is capable of doing anything including many of those so called gurus, Ramana excepted. I remember Joseph Goldstein's lecture stating that during meditation there is nothing that we wont think of, so I broadened that with the aforesaid paragraph. I am glad that what I thought may have occurred did not. This PC is infected with a horrible virus that I've been unable to get rid of. Maybe the virus sent that message. Thanks for deleting Mark Twain. Now I can send from unbound hopefully. Metta, Alton

Anyone is capable of doing *anything*? I don't think this is true. > I remember Joseph Goldstein's lecture stating that > during meditation there is nothing that we wont > think of... On the contrary, there is plenty that we won't think of. What happens during meditation is that latent memories and fantasies burst into consciousness. But only those memories and fantasies that are already present in our minds in latent form can surface in this way, and there is a finite supply of them. Each of us has his or her own collection of these latent thoughts. Therefore each person will experience different thoughts during meditation. There are plenty of thoughts that will occur to you that will never occur to me, and vice versa. I imagine that Goldstein's point was that many of the thoughts are disagreeable and disreputable. This is certainly true. There's a lot of ugly stuff lurking in there. But so what. These latent thoughts stop rising eventually if you meditate enough. > Have you considered that someone has your user > name and password and that is how it happened. I don't think this happened because there's no sign of any other tampering that would require my password. I think the problem was probably caused by a virus. My PC was infected by a large number of malicious programs all at once. Apparently the PC contracted some sort of spyware which allowed a host of malicious programs to install themselves. I think I finally cleaned everything out with the help of a spyware program called " Spyware Doctor. " I am now running three security programs daily: Ad-Aware, Norton Anti-virus, and Spyware Doctor. Thank you, Microsoft. Love, Rob Realization [Realization ] On Behalf Of KOMO kASHA Tuesday, June 21, 2005 1:10 AM Realization Re: Obscene spam post > Phew Rob: That took a load off my consciousness.
