In my humble opinion it is wrong to portray scorpions as you portrayed them. You perhaps have little knowledge about scorpions.Scorpions are rather best suited for intense sadhana and hath yoga practices.Even Ramana Maharishi had two planets namely Venus and Mercury placed in Scorpio, and interestingly one of them was his lagna lord (Venus) too.Swami Chinmayananda,Satya Sai Baba,Ramakrishna Paramahansa,Gopinath Kaviraj etc. many of the realized souls had Scorpio very prominently placed in their horoscopes. In my opinion Scorpio is best suited for the sadhana you are talking about. Guest guest
Dear Acharya Vasudev: Thanks much for appearing and your offering about Scorpios, but you know that eastern astrology calls me a Scorpio and western says I am a Sagittarius, so how can we make both systems compatible? Without my Scorpio energy of the rising sign and in two houses because I am also a Leo Aquarius intercept I would not have the intensity needed to continue my Sadhana. I did not mean anything negative about the sign of Scorpio, in fact having no gate that blocks the unconscious is a great asset. That sign digs deep holes and not a lot of little one. What sign are you? Rising moon etc? Can you send me Sri Ramana's data so I can have his chart? Time of birth, city, date and year. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Hi Alton, > Can you send me Sri Ramana's data > so I can have his chart? > Time of birth, city, date and year. According to the standard biography it was December 30, 1879 at 1 am in Tiruchuzhi. Nowadays Tiruchuzhi is usually spelled Tiruchuli. It's 26 miles south of Madurai in Tamil Nadu at 9 degrees 33' N, 78 degrees 12' E. Google Earth knows where Tiruchuli is (with search function) but it doesn't show enough detail to see the village. Guest guest
Dear Alton, It is not the question what sign one possesses according to one system or other.I was referring the qualities of Scorpio as general. How we derive the qualities of any sign.? We derive the qualities of any sign from these angles.. We analyze what tattva any sign possesses i.e. Earthy, airy, watery or Fiery ? Whether the sign is Fixed, mutable or changeable ? Whether the sign odd or even ? Whether the sign sattvic, rajasic or tamasic ? etc. etc. etc. And most of these angles both systems are quite compatible.Do you agree or not ? The debate over tropical and sidereal zodiac is altogether a different thing and qualities of Scorpio are not affected with that at all. I am not surely a scorpion in any way.According to Vedic System I have Virgo rising with Gemini moon sign. These are the birth details of Maharishi Ramana. Born on 30th December 1879 at 1.00 AM(LMT) in Madurai India. He has Libra rising with Gemini moon sign. Guest guest
Dear Acharya Vasudev: I also had a sidereal reading and it seems to be the same as the Tropical one. However I have been told that the sidereal is more accurate for transits. Some Indian astologer years ago was doing lifetime transits for $100. I wish I did it then. Now I lost contact with the one who knew him. I know that some individuals dont want to know what is going to happen, but I do. That way I can center myself better. Of course we remember what Kabir said dont we. " Let the events come as they come " Your site in interesting and If my finances improve with my market speculation I will have you do a reading for me. Guest guest
Dear Alton, I don't know whether the moderator will allow us to talk astrology here, still I would like to add few points. What you said is quite right that sidereal is more accurate but it's not for transits rather for timing the results.Transits are a different thing.Transits means the movements of planets through different zodiac signs. We usually see them through different angles. In western astrology it is called directions. In eastern astrology we have a different kind of dasha systems combining with transits. There are as many as 42 kind of dasha systems and we in india usually follow only the one of them namely Vimshottari dasha system.I suppose by saying transits you wanted to convey the same thing. Now come to the second points. You are right ,some individuals don't want to know what is going to happen with them and in that sense they may be averse to the whole idea of astrology.Unfortunately astrology is used for telling material things only as in this way it is more popularized and provides bread and butter to many people who practice this ancient vidya.Very few people know that Esoteric astrology is a great tool for helping those who are seeking answers within. That's why it is called the eye of vedas.I have spent quite time studying this and found this a great help for me.For removing delusions and providing inner light astrology is the best thing happened to mankind. Guest guest
Dear Vasudev: Yes, about what I mean by transits. Yes, also about my chart helping me to understand myself. Everything seems to have come out right. My thoughts and personality traits are a reflection of my chart, which is a reflection of the chain of events that made Alton into what he is identified with as far as acting out his destiny role. Thanks for the detailed explanation. It was my wife that was a terrific astrologer, but gave it up because I did not want to do it with her.
