The fascinating story of " Orva Schrock " .Story is past. Unreal. Self is real. What you are is here. " Orva Schrock " is not here. Loose the story. Guest guest
Judy, I think you are confusing mind and self. Self is real. Mind is not real. It vanishes when sought such as when you ask yourself " Who am I? " As soon as you ask that question the mind disappears and what remains is self. It works every time. Self is experienced before thought. During thought. Between thouhts. And After thought.Thought happens in an atmosphere of self. What all this realization stuff is is when people come to realize that the intimacy of what they call self is not a private intimate experience. It feels that way to be sure. But that personal feeling of self is a public experience shared by all and everything. Few understand this because it cannot be communicated. No matter how you try to explain in words what self is you will fall short. Words can never replace the experience of self. Can they? Try and explain what your self feels like. You can try but explanations fall short don't they? Realization is not acheiving anything. It is more of a loosing than an achieving. You loose the notion that you are a separate being. We get confused because we consider our bodies as our selves. But our bodies dissapate just our thoughts do. They just take a little longer. Ramana says that our bodies are actually thoughts. Aging is the process where a thought-body vanishes. If we could see thoughts they would probably appear like a body being born, growing to maturity and vanishing all in an instant. But we can't see thoughts. We can't see sound either. most of us anyway. You have to be on a really pure level for that. But this is not a mysticism group so let's stick to the topic of realization. To summarize. Thoughts happen in the ocean of self. Not your self or my self. There are no two selves. There is only one self. Realization, Judy, is another word for insanity. Sanity follows the majority. If most people are sleep-walking their lives away. One who is fully awake is considered insane. If there comes a time when most will be self-realized then those who consider themselves separate beings will be the insane ones and locked away in Selfish Hospitals.
