For my brother Noah

[Note: as I type these quotes nearing midnight just before New Years day, 2009,

my oldest brother nears the passing of his earthly life. After a lengthy

illness, he lies now at death's door and his deliverance is now immanent. He

was/is a devout Christian and I have no quarrel with that. It is simply that the

Royal Road of Nonduality is my light and life and it INCLUDES the sincere

Christian right along with all the other women and men of our earthly realm who

give themselves up wholly to the highest they can conceive, and find, and know;

THEIR BLISS! So, here are some quotes of a great Russian forest hermit Christian

monk mystic, St Seraphim of Sarov. I pray our dear brother, St Seraphim,

welcomes my brother, Noah, to the peaceful shore where all is peace and there is

pain no more.]

 

Good Saint Seraphim spoke these things:

 

" The human heart is open to God alone and when one approaches

it, one finds oneself on the brink of an abyss. "

 

" Be upright, maintain peace in your soul

and be loving towards others. Give the

Spirit what is due it. "

 

" Sow the seed that you are given.

There is always hope that a seed

may germinate and grow and bear fruit,

even if it is only after some time.

Do not bury the talent you are given

but put it in the bank to gain interest. "

 

" Oh, such joy, such bliss, I cannot describe it all. "

 

" All those who live in strong hope in God

are raised up to Him and illumined by the

brightness of eternal light. "

 

" He who dwells in peace collects spiritual gifts

as it were with a scoop,

and he sheds the light of knowledge on others.

When a man lives in peace God reveals mysteries to him. "

 

" To the degree that a man purifies himself

before God, and walks in his presence,

God will show him his face even in this world.

It is the knowledge of God which enables us to see him,

because contemplation comes only with knowledge. "

 

" Whoever knows perfect love for God.....

is wholly transformed in love for God,

and has no other affection. "

 

" When the moment comes to to leave the body

the soul who is filled with Divine love has no fear.....

but flies as it were, to her native country,

escorted by the angels.

Oh, my joy,

this isn't a time for grief:

it is a time to rejoice

at the great happiness to come. "
