Dear Rob,

I just realized a possible interpretation error. When you'd

mentioned Ranjit Maharaj, I assumed Nisargadatta had a brother named

Ranjit since it happens to be a very popular Indian Name. To my

knowledge Sri Ranjit Maharaj the Guru is not Nisargadatta's

biological brother. They may be called brothers in the sense that

they were both disciples of Siddharameshwar. I may be wrong about

this but I've talked to people who met Ranjit Maharaj and they'd

never mentioned Nisargadatta and Ranjit were brothers.

Best regards,

Hur

Hi Hur,

I think you're right. Somebody I trust told me in

an email that they are brothers, and I believed it.

But I haven't seen that in writing anywhere else.

I think he must have jumped to a wrong

conclusion from seeing them described as

" brother gurus " which, I assume, has to do with

their having had the same authority in their

lineage.

Thanks for the help.

Regards,

Rob
