Guest guest
Hi, The String 2001 Conference recent held in Mumbai (Bombay) discussing the String theory, as the candidate rather than particle for the fundamental nature of matter, ended last week. Attracted the leading lights of the scientific world, including Stephan Hawkings. SH' comments in a lecture last week to the general Indian public (not just scientists) are very interesting... -"A Unified theory of how the Universe began will be in within the next 20 years. However theoretical physicists per se will cease to probe deeper into the beginning of time only because the calculations to achieve this would be so complicated that it would require computer like skills far beyond the grasp of humans". -On Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle (you cannot measure accurately both the position and the velocity of a particle)............. "Even God is bound by the uncertainty principle and cannot know the position and velocity, but only the wave function" -"In the Universe the element of chaos is omnipresent.Just as the Universe Bang with the Big Bang, it could well end in a Big Crunch collapsing into itself". (Phenomenon imploding back into it's noumenal state?) "The Hubble telescope's recent images of a Black Hole-Cygnus XR-1, identified it on the strength of the swirling gases that seem to get sucked into apparent nothingness. ................ If there is a God, the Supreme Creator too has to be within the Universe and follow it's rules." (Phenomenon is just Noumenon manifested) Did Hawkings get influenced by the Upanshidic sage who some 5,000 years ago sang..... "That which is the Supreme Brahman, the Self, subtler than the subtle, eternal, That alone Thou Art, Thou are that Alone." Interesting, the convergence of Science and Mysticism.
