The very point Melody made to >you earlier. > >Ed ~ Sighhhhhhh :-) The phrase " involved with " does not describe what is seen by the involver or why the involvement. It simply notes the repeated presence of messages on a certain subject. Such as, " I notice that you often talk about Osho. " or... " I notice that you often talk about how people are treating you. " No interpretation, no evaluation.... just observation. Maybe I should have specified what I only implied before: By being involved with what people think of you, or with any other mechanisms of self-protection, the false personal identity is reinforced and silent eternal beingness is veiled. You may decide you like it that way, or you may decide you want to discontinue the mental and emotional habits, and find a way to do that. But until you see the choice there is no choice. That is why I sent the original message with love, Xan

No. But the words that followed did: " ....with how folks are treating you " . > It simply notes the repeated presence of messages on a certain subject. Your response went well beyond that. You attempted to give meaning to the pattern. And that's where your 'hand' could be seen. > Such as, " I notice that you often talk about Osho. " > or... You say potAto, I say potaaato. :-) > > Maybe I should have specified what I only implied before: Why are you working so hard to prove you were - what? - right? compassionate? loving? You're showing your hand again, Xan. > By being involved with what people think of you, or with > any other mechanisms of self-protection, the false personal > identity is reinforced and silent eternal beingness is veiled. If one were prone to forming conclusions, one might think your words here come from that very " false personal identity " that cares what people think of you. > > You may decide you like it that way, or you may decide > you want to discontinue the mental and emotional habits, > and find a way to do that. Guest guest
Hi Xan, Thanks for this clarity: (snip) By being involved with what people think of you, or with any other mechanisms of self-protection, the false personal identity is reinforced and silent eternal beingness is veiled. Resonating here in this way: Self-protection is the construction of the self that is protected. The " actions " to protect the self are the maintenance of the self. So, what is being protected against, and that which is being protected, are not-two. There is thus no need to do away with self-protection. In fact, any intent to do away with self-protection is itself another kind of self-protection. There is clarity this moment that what is protected against and that which is being protected are not-two. Then, the self- protective " actions " no longer deceive. And seeing thus, such actions can only come to an end in their own time. They no longer are viable, because only a kind of pushing away of clarity allows such " actions " to appear as " doable " .
