As you can appreciate it is not often that one can converse with somebody who has had direct contact with a man of Maharaj's stature. Before I posed the question on the group, whether any of the group had direct contact with Maharaj, there were many questions in mind. As soon as you appeared they dropped away with the irrelevance that most of them were. Two questions come to mind.Firstly although there is nothing to do some people were asked by Maharaj to meditate, do you know which mantra he asked them to meditate on? Secondly what is your view on Balsekar? Once again thank you for your experiences with Maharaj and if anything comes of the tapes I will see it on the group list. love and best wishes peter

I realize there are 95 people on this list and that most of them are not posting. So I have guessed that my little annectdotes ahve been felt by them. As for the mantra intitiation that Maharaj gave Barbara, I do not know what is was. I did not take initiation myself. I gathered that this might be a tradition in Maharaj's lineage. Which incidentally is called teh Navnath Sampradaya. The lineage of the nine gurus. I do not think that many Westerners got this initiation, I only remember him discussing it with Barbara, however, it is possible that it was customary for his Indian disciples to do so. As far as him asking us to do stuff, he seemed intent on knowing if we understood the truth and could stay with it. On occassion he would dispatch a " professional seeker " whom he deemed was not seriously attempting to abide in Truth. As for Balsekar, I did not meet him when I visited India. I believe he arrived about six months after him. I do have my opinion of his early book, Pointers. But this is for another post. My opinion is controversial, to say the least Thanks Peter! Always feel free to ask me questions. Love, Cathy
