I found myself saying yesterday, elsewhere, " Different waves will behave differently .....depending on where it is, what they're 'made of' and the forces of nature surrounding it. Given those specific variables, that wave could behave no other way. I hear N. saying man is no different.... that man is only a 'wave' being danced by the ocean. " And as I allowed those words to really melt into 'me', and hearing those words ring 'true', it struck me just how much would have to be surrendered, in order for that 'lie' you described to be " unlearned " , such that man was free to see that there is no personal, independent reality.....to see that man is only 'wave'. Unlearning would encompass the dropping of all value systems, expectations, and preferences. Considering that, I began counting the number of 'value' oriented expressions I make in just one day. It's a rather stunning revelation. It becomes easier and easier to see that it is those 'values' - and our desire for others to adopt them that is the source of so much suffering. Suffering, and 'hurt', and anger, and sorrow drops not when 'others' or events unfold as we would design them. Suffering ends when these value systems are seen for what they are: obstacles to a natural, abiding, 'unconditional' nature rather than a *blueprint* for one. Melody ..
