Guest guest
Hi Personally, if I wanted to know what another says, I would read his books. Or look at the site's data-base/files. I am here to enquire with other humans ( " non-existent " as they might be.., or at least as existent as the sender and the receiver of the quotations,.. and not with a particular (no longer existing) author, which I can do, when alone. Are we hiding ourselves, when endlessly quoting ? Does the quotation-providers, have nothing to say for themselves ? jb.
Guest guest
Hi JB, Well, as Emerson said, " only a fool relies on quotes from others " . As Dan once said, " Only that which is directly from and as source is source. As source *is*, there are no secondary sources to seek for source, nor intermediaries to explain source. " Namaste, Formerly Dan Hi Personally, if I wanted to know what another says, I would read his books. Or look at the site's data-base/files. Guest guest
Dear jb, Which do you think is more passionate? a. to help one attach further to one's addicting and powerful play of leela by giving emotional support to our fellow actors on the stage who are suffering b. for a brief moment, not playing that game at least in here by providing pointers from Maharaj which are also aimed at liberation from suffering c. the middle path Can the middle path 'c' exist without 'b'? Guest guest
Oops, I meant compassionate, not passionate. Damn without quotes I cannot even write a simple email Hur Nisargadatta, " Hur " <Hur1@a...> wrote: > Dear jb, > > Which do you think is more passionate? > > a. to help one attach further to one's addicting and powerful play of > leela by giving emotional support to our fellow actors on the stage > who are suffering > > b. for a brief moment, not playing that game at least in here by > providing pointers from Maharaj which are also aimed at liberation > from suffering > > c. the middle path > > Can the middle path 'c' exist without 'b'? > > Hur > > Nisargadatta, JB789@h... wrote: > > Hi > > Personally, if I wanted to know what another says, I would read his > > books. Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just a bit of input: a. If giving emotional support is required by a situation, then emotional support is the compassionate option. If you had a friend on his/her deathbed, would you say " Quit whining, you don't exist... just die, quit worrying, die already, you are the Supreme? " b. If quotes from Maharaj don't help, they don't help. Maharaj never pushed or forced his quotes on any 'individual' who came to see him, nor did he address a 'group of people' with some words assumed appropriate to 'all of them'. As each 'person' came to talk to him, the appropriate words arose. There are no words appropriate for 'all', like some sort of spiritual company-wide Email. c. JB is essentially in the wrong place to get his needs met. Using the dying metaphor again -- if one is dying, one should be in a hospital, not talking to a Guru. If a bandage is needed for a wound, one should be found... and later, a return to have the wound healed after the bleeding stops seems appropriate. Guest guest
Thanks for the questions, Hur ! That is of great value. I did not argue gainst that, though it might seem so. I was pointing to communicating ONLY via Quotes. c. middle path, .. yes that feels right. But to me, the 'entrance' to the 'middle path' starts Here (where I am, however not-nice and temporal it might be) and not OverThere) As for your question,.. 'can c be without b' .. is a good question. For some it might, for some not. Have you ever thought of, -if- there were no accomplished experts in this field,.. What would we do ?.. would we be completely lost ?.. or would our enquiry be based on No-info, not-knowing, no laid out 'path' ?.. which we have to do anyways,.. don't we ? Bets wishes, JB -------------- > Nisargadatta, JB789@h... wrote: > > Hi > > Personally, if I wanted to know what another says, I would read his > > books.
