" It isn't possible to know what it's like by thinking about it and creating a scenario like, " This is what it's gonna be like. " And I'm saying that " in my case, " not a single thought about " what the experience of that would be like " even remotely resembled the actual experience. It's an infinite fullness, infinite blessing. And do you see any problems with memory here? I can't offer anything but " my experience. " You might take a look at some sages like Ramana Maharshi... do they seem in a fearful state, lacking memory and identity, lost somewhere out in blackness or in a white blob? > Why wouldn't I be afraid of losing myslelf even if > I didn't like that self that was to be lost? As I see it, you're not afraid of losing yourself, you're afraid of " what losing myself is going to be like. " And you've constructed an image, maybe even an entire scenario based on that. If you ever do " lose yourself " you'll be laughing so hard at having ever had the fear, your neighbors will call the police. > My understanding is that this " you " is what is labeled as ego. > The real me doesn't want, doesn't desire, because it knows it > is all that is, was and will be. It is Fullness. The end of " particular desires, " little pleasures that never last and so another desire comes up, gets satisfied, fades, yet another comes up, gets satisfied, fades, so on, ad infinitum, ad nauseum. Consider that if you're infinitely full already, why would you want any of the 'little things' anymore? They can be taken or left alone, whatever. > >nothing like the future-projection being created. Take it in a spirit of adventure and courage moment to moment, and *just drop* the ideas like " this is what it will be like " completely! Surrender, let go of those ideas. > What others say. > What others have experienced. .... are utterly worthless, and will keep someone locked in fear and desire, seeking always, never finding. Nisargadatta: " Instead of seeking what you don't have, find out what it is you have never lost. " He said " find out. " Everybody seems to love Nisargadatta, but who simply does what he recommends? Doesn't it seem kind of strange that people would read " I Am That " over and over, but never just follow instructions? Love, Tim
