Guest guest
Since I have been reading about and focusing my attention on 'I Am' I have been experiencing more vivid dreams in my sleep, even to the point where I have become Lucid. On several occasions over the past week, I have woken up in the morning, fully aware of my dreaming state, and then I drift back off into that dream semi-conscious. Is this a common occurrence? Guest guest
Hi Stuart, Hard to say if it's common or not, but it sounds like something perfectly normal. Nothing that happens on the spiritual path is really unusual, but it isn't worth focusing too much attention on it either. Keep attention on attention (I AM) and everything will resolve itself spontaneously. You might also start noticing some periods of unexplainable, intense bliss (Samadhi) pretty soon. If it happens just let it come if it comes, and let it go when it goes. If you get attached to it and try to make it come back, it will not, but if you just let it come and go, things will happen naturally. Other things you might notice from time to time are a ringing sound in your ears (not like usual ear ringing), strange 'body-related' experiences and other things. Just observe them (and enjoy) as they appear and let them go peacefully and without resistance when they end. None of this is 'the final Realization.' If that happens, it will absolutely be beyond a shadow of a doubt. Keep on keeping on, it's fantastic to see someone actually 'doing' what Nisargadatta recommends. I'm sure others are, but they aren't talking about it on the list :-). Guest guest
Stuart, thanks for this letter. Now I know I'm not going crazy. My dreams have been so real...
