Guest guest
Dear List, You know how Janis Joplin sang " Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose? " She was close. Anyone who gets to that point (nothing left to lose) will get a 'taste' of freedom. Perhaps they'll contemplate suicide (the world says " Oh horrors! " )... but there is an immense freedom in contemplation of suicide, if one can get past the negative conditioning of it to take a look at it. People who contemplate suicide don't want to die, they want freedom. They want freedom from responsibility, freedom of the burden of 'personality', freedom of the burden of 'past', freedom from " life as commonly defined. " Freedom from the borden and burden of separate existence. Anyone who has ever seriously contemplated suicide probably knows this 'sense of freedom', this 'taste' (most likely tinged with guilt from various sorts of conditioning). * * * Janis Joplin sang " Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose... " Add to the above " ...and nothing left to gain " -- and the nail is hit on the head. Namaste, Tim / Omkara
