Whatever it is, it's a dualistic point of view (the opposite of " free will " ). It may be taught in order to help loosen attachment to the idea of free will. This is what I would say -- Be free of both destiny and free will. These are ideas in the mind. Let go of these, forget about both these ideas and " the one concerned with them. " -- then things are as they are. But since I didn't quote from some Hindu scripture or some sage, maybe you won't listen <loud laugh>.
