Hi Harsha, Is this the original Harsha..(there are impersonators you know ) ...and are you still holding on, sir ? Quite ok with me, but how 'bout going to the extreme, squeeze tighter and tighter until either the whole thing explode in your hands or your hand gives way. ~dave
Guest guest
Hiya, - Harsha Well, well, well, who do we have here. Harsha of advaitin fame.Welcome, that is, if you were not a lurker all this time. Let's see what you have to prattle...... ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~>The words have their limitations but when uttered by genuine Sages, their>potency is enormous. When spoken without understanding, they may be futile>indeed from one perspective. San: Funny, the genuine of the genuinest sages, say that whatever they utter is a concept. Aka, anything said about Truth is false etc etc. >I have heard that the Bible states that in the beginning there was the Word.>The Word was with God and the Word Was God! San: Word is a sound with a meaning. For a meaning to exist, that which lends the meaning must apriori exist. So in the beginnning it cannot have been the Word. Secondly as soon as you use the term "beginning", you have given birth to that which is prior to beginning and tied yourself into an endless loop. >Anything that you hold sacred can lead back to the Absolute. San: Who is to be led back to the Absolute? Leading back is possible only if moving away has taken place. And what is sacred except a mere expression of your conditioning in the moment. > It may be>prayer, sacred words, devotion to the Guru, meditation on images of God and>surrender to the Divine. To quote Nisargadatta "If you could just realize how hilarious you sound". Cheers Sandeep

Guest guest
Yeah but at least he didn't find a pertinent quote from Ramana... that would have been like a safe falling off a building :-). Maybe just a bit too [ma]harsh <laugh>. But it does sound ridiculous... from another perspective, 99% of this talk sounds " upside down and backwards " -- and there's no way to communicate in what way it does, or any possibility of anything but just remaining silent. Any wonder some of the sages appear to 'go crazy' after awhile? <loud laugh>. Guest guest
Nothing anyone ever said about anything is true. Of course this statement negates itself... nothing ever was said! <laugh>. Guest guest
>I have heard that the Bible states that in >the beginning there was the Word. The >Word was with God and the Word Was God! In Catholic theology, this is thought to point to the trinity, which may be variously represented as: father, son, spirit; being, knowing, loving speaker, word, speaking. My favorite image of the trinity... the father is pure being, lacking nothing of what is; the son is perfect knowledge, lacking nothing of what is; the spirit is unity of father and son. ~ tomas
