Got this from just opening the book at random and finding the first

quote from Nisargadatta that hit my eyes (yes, they do blink :-).

their concepts. They are brimming over with concepts, with the

result that they are unable to listen to what I say. Many people

come here, presuming themselves to be very knowledgeable but I know

All your identities at the body-mind level have been changing

continuously, and none of them has been constant and faithful to

you. Why then are you attracted to any of such identities by

stating " I am like this, " " I am like that? "

Really, is Maharaj serious when he says listening is possible for

even the 'ready' aspirant or do we already have all the answers

and merely want verification from others ?

 

These answers we possess are forever protective, engaged in a

defensive mode - they are the real block in communication.

The whole question-answer sessions simply becomes reinforcement

for the I-sense, an exercise in futility.

However somewhere deeper in our being, we know the answers

are all false, this is probably why we perpetually ask questions,

but are we ready to dispense of our cherished (bogus) answers ?

 

Only then can some sort of communication occur; till then there will

always be mis-communication or rather no communication,

in all forums. So it may be all pointless...

 

...and what are we trying to understand ? Is there something

outside yourself, other that yourself that you need to understand ?

The usual 'understanding' is simply thought clarifying itself,

reinforcing itself, getting tied up in an infinite regress.

What must be understood is there is nothing to understand !

Now, what's happening here? - duality I see,

copies, copies...

thought this was a non-dual list.
