Hi KKT,

Not in the normal definition of the word " something. "

One would have to define what " the mind " means, however. There

really is no such thing as " mind " -- the only real definition

of " mind " could be " thought within some arbitrary time-frame. "

Do you see what i mean? Thoughts arise, but they arise out of

nowhere (and vanish again immediately if there's no " attachment " ).

No, there is a 'quality' of absolute sureness about it that precludes

that possibility. If an " apperception " happens, a clear and utterly

unshakeable conviction in its " sense of trueness " comes along with

it. Probably why the sages speak in such a tone of authority.

Certainly one way to look at it :-).

How is remaining still " running after " something? If there's

a " purpose " for remaining still it could be seen that way, but there

is no purpose... it happens or doesn't happen.

Why make a mind-game out of the idea of something being beyond the

mind or not <laugh>. It is either " realized " as such or it is not.

" I " don't read those words anymore. Every " spiritual book " just

affirms what is already known wordlessly, so i don't do it.

But if true, why the Nisargadatta list at all? <grin>. Then people

shouldn't bother going to the sages or reading the books, it's all

self-hypnosis? ;-)

Leave it to somebody to turn " beyond the mind " into a mental argument

<LOL>.

Peace,

Tim
