Also wise... i didn't mean to suggest it was 'my doing', but rather it left in 'my absence' -- with the departure of obsession with the body, and also with the departure of attachment to 'the me'. > Manuel also knows not get in front of fast moving trains. > > See Tim, what you just wrote does nothing to assist the many Tim's > and Manuel's that are out there. Yes, i agree with this... i don't recommend anyone abandon attending NA or AA or CA meetings or anything of that nature -- unless they are certain it isn't useful. > It is quite a site to see those how you described, you know > Americas finest. Whether 'responsible, useful member of society' is really all that important... is up to 'the individual' to decide. i am not of 'society' at all, except in the most minor ways. i take little from it, and contribute little to it -- and am content. Society is a " give and take " kind of thing -- the way i see it, as long as the giving and taking are approximately equal, all is well. > Yeah perhaps I am dreaming. > But this dream is better than the nightmare of addiction. Of course. One thing could be pointed out though, from the " promises " in the N.A. program (not worded exactly here): " The only thing we promise is freedom from active addiction. " That's all the program offers, in its own words -- anything else is up to the individual. In the course of my attendence, i have run into members whom that's *all* they get out of it, too... otherwise, they are just as miserable as they were when actively using. Every coin has two sides.
