Guest guest
Namaste All, I respect and read his stuff, but how are some of you so sure that he is a realised jivanmukti and not just well informed?....ONS...Tony.
Guest guest
Hi Tony, Because it's no longer a matter of belief, but a matter of realization. And, if he is " just well informed, " who better to learn from ;-) -mort Nisargadatta, " Tony O'Clery " <aoclery> wrote: > Namaste All, > > I respect and read his stuff, but how are some of you so sure that he > is a realised jivanmukti and not just well informed?....ONS...Tony. Namaste All, I get it now if you don't believe implicitly that Maharaj was a Jivanmukti, and follow the sterile verbal non dualism of Omkara, then one is stupid? Is that the sadhana?..I cannot judge who is realised or not, Omkara in his wisdom obviously can.ONS...Tony.

Certainly it's sterile and verbal -- this mailing list is a sterile, verbal format. But perhaps you could apply this precise question to yourself, Tony... and your recent postings on the list. Dear Tony, What difference does it make whether Maharaj was Self-realized or not? " I am That " speaks for itself. The subjective proof is in the pudding. Guest guest
Hi Tony, That game is played on all lists. Actually, it's rather entertaining... otherwise i wouldn't be playing it ;-). Guest guest
Tony, I honestly don't follow anything re: Advaita. It's like the concept of fractions in math- once you learn it, it becomes nature to you. As a small child, you have to believe that 3/4 = 6/8, but as an adult, you know it without giving it much thought. The concept of non-dualism is honestly completely sensible to me, and something I " know " and " feel " rather than some belief I need to reinforce. I don't claim to be " enlightened, " but what is enlightenment anyway? I've had times when " The Illusion " was very thinly veiled, and other times when I'm wrapped up in mind/body identification. It happens. Frankly, I find Maharaj difficult to read much of the time, but I think a lot of that is due to the translation. Maharaj says that if the reality of nondualism is not known to you, the way to understanding (at least the way that worked for him) is to believe what your teacher tells you. If you can't allow that belief to exist, then that's how it's supposed to be. There is no quest for understanding- things happen as they happen. Is Maharaj a realized Jivanmukti? Who cares ;-) -mort Nisargadatta, " Tony O'Clery " <aoclery> wrote: > Nisargadatta, " Omkara " <coresite@h...> wrote: > > > > Here we go again... > > > > How does this guy manage to turn his computer on? <lol>. > > > > Nisargadatta, " Tony O'Clery " <aoclery> wrote: > > > Namaste All, > > > > > > I respect and read his stuff, but how are some of you so sure that > > > he is a realised jivanmukti and not just well > > > informed?....ONS...Tony. > > Namaste All, > > I get it now if you don't believe implicitly that Maharaj was a > Jivanmukti, and follow the sterile verbal non dualism of Omkara, then > one is stupid?
