However to help settle your mind, I would suggest reading, Ramana Maharaj, Sankara, Buddhist Vipassana, the Goenka method. You will find in these teachers the same thing that I am saying to you. It is also my own experience that sadhana and meditation over the last 16 years has greatly reduced my attachments and desires. Sure I have a long way to go but, I don't smoke, drink alcohol, eat meat, read unnecessary rubbish, or have any desire at all to own anything. I just live and perform the already prarabdha karma. This may not sound much to someone as non dualist to you but I came from a quite outrageous place to where I am now at. So I can safely say although like you, I am not realised, I can recommend the purification sadhana from experience. Jesus, Buddha, Sankara, Ramana, Krishna, all said purification is necessary, so guess what? I am not too egotistical to take their advice, they being realised no doubt. Without making even Who am I a constant feeling or sadhana it is just vndism. Om Namah Sivaya...Tony.
