Guest guest
Page 331 Suresh: Do we have to depend on something, if we want to reach the truth you are speaking of? M: Give up your dependency on the body and the mind. And, for the time being, depend only on the self. Which you keep depending on the self, you will first realize the `I amness'. Then, keep witnessing the `I amness'. And in due course, during that process, you will transcend the `I amenss'. Ronald: Your guru told you to meditate on the knowledge `I am'. Did he mean to meditate on the knowledge `I am', or to meditate simply on the `I am'? They are two different things. On what did you meditate? M: Mediate on that knowledge by which you know you are, and by which you know the world. In your meditation, hang on to that principle by which you know that you re and that the world is. Where is the question of `meditating on' if you hold on to that principle? In your meditation, be that principle. Suppose the great industrialist Tata offers you a very big job that will pay ten thousand rupees per month. Once you are given the offer, are you going to meditate on it continuously? Or do you know the offer once you are told about it? You know it. There is no need to meditate on the offer. Similarly, I am telling you to hang on to that principle by which you know you re. That is the best offer. Don't keep meditating on the `I amness' or the beingness. Don't try to meditate on being, or on being the `I am'. In meditation, be that principle. Don't meditate on – be. Just be.
