Guest guest
Hi, As a recent developement, I noticed that now, you get smacked an ad into your brain, not Only on first page, but Also on almost very single post you view... all this intruding Blinking .. 'CLICK HERE ! CLICK THERE !'.. to me, it is a form of violence.. (Where is it going to stop ?!.. If they could, they would stuff your brain cells with ads of their grand 'offers', even while you sleep !) If you think that it is going too far.. all this forcefull ad/money mongering,.. would it not be a good idea that you as a site-owner express the wish of having it stopped, to the 'top people' ?! .. I know this net affair, is not a democracy, but even so .. But If your advaitan-brain is tickled to give me a lecture on THE vedantic view on this " illusory " situation, then please refrain.. but then, how long will your voluntary slavery, in the name of ..., go on ? Regards, Jb

Guest guest
Dear JB, Things could have been worse. At the Advaita.org's free message board there were pop up Viagra ads that would not go away. Finally Advaita.org switched to a commercial free program which I am sure the fellowship is paying for it one way or the other. Although I am the so called list owner here, unlike the Advaita.org the domain Nisargadatta is owned by the . From the past experience I can tell you that other than the automated messages it's nearly impossible to get a personal response from . I understand that since the does not generate revenue from the groups they don't want to spend resources for customer service but as a member please feel free to write to . I may be able to create a separate commercial free message board at www.nisargadatta.net but the advantage for having it here is that everything is free. What about the countless hours the dedicated members spent on creating the messages in the archieves here? In case some of the new members are not aware, I believe we have the most extensive Nisargadatta quotes on the net. You can go back to last year to find them. I set the archieve settings open to the public. In other words one does not have to be a member to view the messages in the archieves. For the time being maintains the archieves at no cost. I also don't have the time to deal with the complications of being an administrator at a separate site, not to mention the fact that bandwith costs money. As a member did you ever wonder how people find this site? Was it through search engines or other groups? I'd like to hear from other members as to how they found this group. The reason for my curiosity is that having an established domain like this one listed on search engines makes it easy for others to find this group. As for the advaita view, since you brought it up, " it is as it is, " even our negative reaction to the flashing green neon commercials is part of " what is. " I know it's not much confort and that may be the reason why there are no rich advaita teachers Best wishes, Hur Nisargadatta, " new7892001 " <JB789@h...> wrote: > Hi, > > As a recent developement, I noticed that now, you get smacked an ad > into your brain, not Only on first page, but Also on almost very > single post you view... > all this intruding Blinking .. Guest guest
This applies to the Whole Web. For Mac Users-- Just uncheck PICTURES in your Internet Explorer Browser or whatever. If you don't want the banners, check off ANNIMATION and JAVA too. (You can always re-check this and that when you need them on specific sites) Don't want cookies, turn them off too. Except when you need a specific one. If you are on CABLE, get free for individual use, " Web Washer " and set it up however you want it. It is listed on Google for Mac. Guest guest
Television and radio, with the exception of some public and governmental organizations are loaded with commercials. A drive down almost any highway in the US and many other countries amply demonstrates that we have a high capacity for being inundated with advertising. Some of us actually pay for clothing covered in advertising logos. Imagine! I, for one, am willing to let these advertisers support my email habit to the degree that I can overlook the intrusion. Actually, I'd much rather reclaim the night from the perpetually lighted signage, and the countryside from the billboards. Thanks for a nice list.
