They are more interested in pointing the subject to his/her true identity. This is one of the reasons why Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta were great masters. They relentlessly point the seeker to the Self rather than engage him/her in philosophical arguments. One of the arguments in the classic philosophy in proving God's existence is based on design (=why the world is like this). If there is a design then there must be a designer...hidden behind the scenes! This model is a variation on Aristotle's uncaused cause, unmovable mover theory. The problem with these materialist theories is that no matter how smart they are, at the end they treat Consciousness, Self, God as an object. From our experience we know that Consciousness is not an object. Hur

If no design is postulated, no designer can or need be postulated either. As for how Consciousness, Self, God... is 'treated' -- who cares? Certainly not Consciousness, Self, God... <laugh>. Guest guest
I think we can’t deny that there is a design. So, the question is: Is it possible to have a design without designer? Guest guest
Is it possible to have a question without a questioner? Is it possible to have knowing, without someone who is in the know? If I may paraphrase the mystic poet Yunus Emre's lines for your question, my answer would be: The world is filled with the design. And yet no one knows the Designer. Seek the Designer in your Self That is not apart from you. Hur
