Guest guest
Observe yourself early in the morning when you are still half asleep. The attention shift from 'deep sleep' to dreaming to semi-wakefulness and back again is very interesting. Observe and follow your breathing, how it changes. Notice the feeling in your brain area, the feeling in you chest area. Before the outer senses take over see how you 'feel' inside. Discover the 'inner you'. This is the time to learn more about these three states, actually not really states but just a matter of where our attention is focused on. I suspect these involuntary attention shifts can be made into voluntary ones by observing and learning about them. As I observed sometime back that the 'deep sleep state' is always with us. [it is just covered/hidden by all the other activities.] So is the 'dream state'. This is just the usual house keeping / filing activity going on in the brain [sub-conscious mind?]. And I suspect the thoughts too are always with us. ... It is all a matter of where our attention is fixed or not fixed. Inside us there are areas of peace and quiet, areas of turmoil and worries, areas of fear and insecurity. Where do you want your attention to rest? Of course, our aim as seekers is to rest attention on our 'Self' as much as possible. [Having first 'discovered' the 'Self']. This is attention directed back at itself! Just thinking aloud ...
