Dear Bill:

I enjoyed reading about your trip to Tiruvannamalai.

I forwarded your account of your trip to Tiruvannamalai to

the SriArunachala group:

SriArunachala.

My first trip to Sri Arunachala was in 1986 and I also stayed

only three days. Three days was way too short a time.

My second trip to Sri Arunachala was just recent,

I was there for October, Novemember and December 2001.

For the first time I attended the Satsang of Mahatma Ganesan,

the Grand Nephew of Sri Ramana Maharshi who retired a few years ago

after being the editor of the Mountain Path magazine for more

than two decades.

It was Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj who asked Mahatma Ganesan to

give Satang. Mahatma Ganesan told Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

I can't speak, I just can't speak.

In a later meeting with Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Sri Nisargadatta again told Mahatma Ganesan that he should be

giving satsang, giving talks.

Once again Mahatma Ganesan told Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj that

I can't give talks.

Sri Nisargadatta grabbed Mahatma Ganesan and said

THAT will speak, you won't be speaking.

So that was enough to convince Mahatma Ganesan.

So, now, Mahatma Ganesan gives Satsang 5 or 6 days per week,

at 9:00 AM at his home and ashram 'Ananda Ramana'.

I have seen around 50 or 60 " Spiritual Teachers " in my lifetime,

and this was the first time I have met a teacher who demonstrated to

me that he knew my every thought.

I should be back in Tiruvannamalai by April 30, in just a few weeks

from now. I plan to rent a house in the countryside away from town,

hopefully close to Sri Arunachala,

to attend Satsang with Mahatma Ganesan year around.

April & May is the summer there so it will probably be very hot

while attending satsang on the porch of Mahatma Ganesan's house.

Mahatma Ganesan has interviewed a very large number of devotees of

Bhagavan Ramana over the years, not only in his role as the editor of

the Mountain Path, but also from the standpoint of a sincere seeker.

In satsang, he shares the wealth of wisdom that he has absorbed from

so many sages and devotees of Sri Bhagavan.

The satsang of Mahatma Ganesan is truly a delightful experience.

Take care,

with Love,

Sri Arunachala
