In Maharaj's talks,

where in some cases he gives folks mantras,

and the like, and even the singing etc.,

he says in effect,

people come to him so badly damaged,

that first the so-called mind has to settle down,

........you can hardly tell someone to investigate

Who/what am I etc., (self inquiry)

in the midst of a buzzing hornets nest!

Yes, Elizabeth. Poongaji, also advised some of his students who at

times found it utterly impossible to still the, " chatter in the

skull " , to just keep repeating, I am bliss....or, I am consciousness,

over and over again, but with ATTENTION!

Best,

John

re: the only way out is in.

John,

So it is said.

But the fact of the matter is,

there is " no way " out.

Even self-enquiry,

who/what am I etc.,

which on face value

would seem to be a way out,

by going within,

isn't.

It can be, and often is,

practiced until the cows come home,

and is just one more trap.

However,

when this question,

(in a variety of forms),

arises unasked for, spontaneously...........

It is really only a common sence issue, Elizabeth.....We can

say, " way, or, " no way " ...until we are blue in the face. This is

really only impressive word juggling, and mental acrobatics. The

fact remains that the attention is either, " IN " (NO-TIME), or it

is " OUT " (IN-TIME). The self can be only be REALIZED... " IN " (NO-TIME).

Om shanti...

What seems like word juggling to one,

may immediatiely make sense to another,

with no acrobatics involved.

So it goes ...

And what you say makes sense to me as well.

So yes, one way to view it is that you either

are timeless reality, or you are

attempting to have an existence in time.

Another way to view it is that there is

no dichotomy, hence no choice.

Events in time, aren't in time.

There is no time for them to be in.

There isn't a being involved in time,

never was or could be.

So, no shift of attention -- only this,

as it always has been, before beginning,

prior to time.

A being doesn't know this.

Only knowing is.

Dan

Beautiful bullshit, it is Anand....this is why we need living

masters. The egoic mind of man just continues to put words into the

mouth of past masters. This is how religions are formed, as well as

how " holy wars " are started.

Yes, it makes lovely swirls as it flushes itself away!

No time, hence no space.

Being and nonbeing irrelevant here.

Words are offered, but open themselves

like drunken multicolored dragons that lose

their ability to make sense ...

Hi John --

Yes.

And may I take the " s " off of the living master?

And, take the " master " off of the living?

So what is left is

livingness undivided, neither Moslem nor Jew

nor Christian...

The war that ends all wars:

In which division defeats itself, and

only " what is " can remain ...

and of course divine madness does sound better than divine nutcase, bearing in mind that the mind is filled with a lot of ludicrous nonsense.. divine nutcase is probably more appropriate

Or when does it stop becoming mechanical..an automatic learned response from who knows where.. to Being in the present

Hi skydancer,

" Who " is it that wonders?

The " I am " murmers and coaxes (the inner guru) ,

it is our minds that are deaf!

Social conditioning etc pertain to the mind.Humour

it , eventually grace/faith will(or is it may) guide,

not the mind.

Your head is already in the tiger's clasp. There is no

choice!

May the Eternal that is you be revealed,

Anand.

This is truly the case skydancer....The true guru(teacher), does

not belong to any " ism " . The true guru is the embodiment of your

own higher self(true self). The, I am, using the body as an

instrument, to speak to " you " . So that " you " also can REALIZE that.

Best wishes, john
