Guest guest
Dear El: After reviewing several posts where I've responded with some aggression and vigor to statements of yours, I've come to suspect that I assumed too quickly that I knew what you were talking about. Now that I'm a little more clear on the matter, thanks in no small part to Dan's efforts, I'm more inclined to the view that the truth of your statements frightened me. The truth you assert seems too much beyond my capacities -- gigantically beyond these attachments, fears and habits with which I contend and identify. The sage, Abby, of Dear Abby fame, once said something about a fly in a jar of vinegar who thought it was the sweetest place in the world because it was the only place he'd ever been. And speaking of 'barking dogs' -- once read a fable about a dog that ran into a hall of mirrors, saw another dog in a mirror and started barking. The dog in the mjrror barked back. Then the hound looked around and saw hundreds of other dogs barking back at it and died of fright on the spot. It was easier to argue with you than admit to the fear. with respect, Colin
Guest guest
Colin, as Michael Hawkins told me a while back, " you are good El, but we need Dan to explain things. All " self " is but the activity of fear only - suffering. There is no escape of it, hence, your only viable option is to " raise " your intelligence, and surrender to it. Walk " through " yourself. When you die of surrender, only then will you live forever. If you are put to death through surrender, there is no such thing as death for you, for you have died already. *** anonymous Rev.
