Guest guest
Re: Dan's recent comment: "The only thing that's being negated is illusion. But, illusion has no real existence. This being clear, there is nothing that need be negated, anywhere or at any time. The neti, neti approach is illusory." I just came across this in the writings of Huang Po: "The arising and the elimination of illusion are both illusory. Illusion is not something rooted in Reality; it exists because of your dualistic thinking. If you will only cease to indulge in opposed concepts such as “ordinary” and “Enlightened,” illusion will cease of itself. And then if you still want to destroy it wherever it may be, you will find that there is not a hairsbreadth left of anything on which to lay hold. This is the meaning of: “I will let go with both hands, for then I shall certainly discover the Buddha in my mind.” " or, as a 19 year old poet once said to me, "You don't have to deny what isn't true." Guest guest
Thanks for what you share here, Colin. You words are refreshing and clear -- -- enjoying the resonance between Huang, Dan, and Colin, who are only aspects of this one event that has no place to occur ... " I am just a Po boy, with nothing to get Huang about, my story's often told, in Strawberry Fields forever ... " Being as I am and who I am, there is nothing to begin nor to negate or affirm. The illusions of negation and affirmation occur without really happening, so indeed, nothing to get Huang about ... Forever strawberries, Dan > Re: Dan's recent comment: > > " The only thing that's being negated is illusion. > > But, illusion has no real existence. > > This being clear, there is nothing that need be negated, anywhere or at any time. > > The neti, neti approach is illusory.
