Ans: Yep. Never can tie too many little shoes. Or pull too many little trucks out of mud puddles or ditches. Dust them off and set them on their way. .. Guest guest
Waiting for good news.. is that the meaning of silence.. >Dear Friends, I'd like to share my impressions of Maharishi's appearance on Larry King last night: To me, this was a momentous appearance, another turning point in world history. Let me explain why: 1. The last time we had an event of this magnitude was around the last time Maharishi appeared on national television 25 years ago (the Merv Griffin days). At that time he had traveled to every continent to inaugurate and proclaim the Dawn of the Age of Enlightenment. On the surface it appeared to be a bold but puzzling public relations move. I was on International Staff at Maharishi's headquarters in Switzerland, and we were confused by Maharishi's actions. Based on the emergence of the first few successes from the new TM-siddhis experiments, he suddenly became excited by this idea of circling the globe, and had people organize the whole tour in a rush, within days. It seemed to have some cosmic significance beyond what Maharishi was revealing. We were used to Maharishi operating behind the scenes, and only coming out in public on rare occasions to promote the TM program. But this was a potentially draining whirlwind of a tour, NOT to promote TM, but to proclaim an abstract idea - The Dawn of the Age of Enlightenment for the whole world - with the creation of The World Government of the Age of Enlightenment not too far behind. The cosmic scope of Maharishi's thinking broke through our little walls of daily routine and boundaries of thinking. We thought our thinking was big - we were caught up in TM and promoting TM courses and creating teachers of TM - but Maharishi was off on something so much vaster, on transforming the whole world. We should have known when, on the night he returned from visiting with the first people to exhibit any results from the flying siddhi, he proclaimed: " Now, if not even one more person begins TM, still the whole thing is accomplished! " We came to realize that there was something much greater happening behind the scenes in this hastily organized world-circling tour. In the Vedas, there is the story of how, in ancient times, in other yugas, in times when the world was deeply in tune with natural law, government was by enlightened kings, who carefully monitored and protected the welfare of the people. Various territories had their kings, and all the kings were guided by the " emperor " , the king of kings. When that position became vacant, it was filled via " the horse ceremony " . The king who was inspired to fill that special role would create a " horse " , using his siddhis abilities, a great, huge horse up in the sky, manifested from his own consciousness. And then he would make that horse circle the Earth. If any other king was powerful enough to stop that horse, or bring it down, that was proof that the candidate was not supreme. If the horse circled the globe successfully, then that candidate showed mastery and became the ruler of the world government, became that person who guided the destiny of the whole world. It was not a power trip, not an exercise in ego (these enlightened candidates were beyond the grip of that) - but a simple demonstration of ability to do the job. That is what Maharishi was really doing, in suddenly circling the globe and visiting every continent to proclaim The Dawn of the Age of Enlightenment. He was telling us that the purity he had generated in world consciousness from 20+ years of work, the purity that he had engineered, was now sufficient enough for him to make this proclamation, and that no one could stop it or bring it down. Although the gross institutions of the world may not have realized what he was doing in making this journey, certainly all those spiritual luminaries of the earth felt it and understood the challenge he was making and the world-guiding role he was stepping into. It was a momentous moment for the world - this one man, starting off on his own, had shifted world consciousness enough to be able to conduct the Vedic horse ceremony for the first time in thousands of years or more, and based on that, to eventually inaugurate The World Government of the Age of Enlightenment " whose domain is consciousness " . 2. Although we had declared our supremacy in the domain of consciousness, Maharishi still didn't take on the powerful, relative institutions of the world in a direct confrontation. The world's churches, the military- industrial complex, the medical lobby, the international banking consortium, the very governments of nations, and any secret powers or societies that run the relative world - he let these sleeping dogs lie. He went back to doing his work behind the scenes, quietly but inexorably bringing the transcendental domain of consciousness to bear on all those relative fields of life. Over the next 25 years, out came the deep, vedic knowledge of medicine and health, of agriculture, of defense, of finance, of business, of architecture, of astrology, of education, of crime- prevention, etc. The very things that critics like to harp on, Maharishi's forays into the various relative fields of life, were a profound gift of raising silent, transcendental consciousness up into all the waves of relative life. Just like Cosmic-consciousness (CC) matures into God- consciousness (GC) by exploring into the relative half of life, so the TM Movement was ready to expand its influence from being the keeper of " the domain of consciousness " to being the cosmic force that draws consciousness into every relative bit of life. And this was no dramatic shift in Maharishi's plan, no mid-course change in direction. It had been openly proclaimed by Maharishi from the beginning - only we often didn't comprehend the scope of his vision. Remember the seven goals of the World Plan, inaugurated back in 1972? To develop the full potential of the individual To improve governmental achievements To realize the highest ideals of education To solve the problems of crime, drug-abuse and all behavior that brings unhappiness to the family of man To maximize the intelligent use of the whole environment To bring fulfillment to the economic aspirations of society, and the individual To achieve the spiritual goals of all mankind in this generation Those were not about individual spiritual achievement, not about personal enlightenment per se. They were about changing the entire relative fabric of the world, even on the surface of life. Maharishi didn't come into this life to bring enlightenment to a small group of people; he came to change the age, to change the destiny of the whole planet, to save the Vedic tradition of true knowledge from extinction and create a lively revival of it. At first, after the inauguration of The World Government of the Age of Enlightenment, this renovation of the relative institutions was done very quietly. As the years went on, and the power of Maharishi's work grew, as the purity of world consciousness - the awakening of the great forces of evolution - grew, this work became bolder. For the past 5 years it's become very bold indeed. 3. But last night's TV show on CNN, available to all of the mover's and shaker's of the world, all of the powerful institutions of the world, was the final stroke, a completely bold proclamation of Maharishi's mastery of this other half of life. In inaugurating The Dawn of the Age of Enlightenment 25 years ago, Maharishi had proclaimed dominion over the field of consciousness (the Absolute). Last night, Maharishi proclaimed dominion over the relative field of life. He pulled no punches; he proclaimed the failures of, the inadequacies of, the incompetencies of almost every major world institution - medicine, democratic government (and most other governments), the wealthy, the military, religions, foreign powers and lobbies (hinting at the role of the international banking/financial consortium in controlling our political system at every election), agri-business, the educational systems of the world, etc. Read the transcript, or listen to the talk again on tape; see if you can find one powerful world institution that Maharishi didn't directly take on, belittle, and offer to renovate. In this worldwide broadcast, Maharishi proclaimed boldly that he was forming a World Government to clean up the mess that all these various institutions had not only failed to stop, but had actively contributed to. Lovingly, but firmly, almost like a disappointed parent, he proclaimed that he was going to make things right, whether we liked it or not. And he didn't avoid the traditional taboo subjects anymore - he boldly spoke of God, he openly discussed esoteric topics like jyotish and yagyas. To me, it was an incredibly bold assertion that he is now unstoppable, that the forces of purity and evolution that have been awakened and set in motion are now invincible, that there is no one, no institution, no government, no secret power that can stop this now. This is the assignment that Nature choose to manifest through Maharishi, that he took on 50 years ago, and that we are going to witness the fruition of in the next few years. 4. For Maharishi, who dwells in the unbounded, who dwells in the councils of the destiny of mankind, to come down to this level, the level of Larry King's questions about " what do you eat? " and " do you feel bad when a friend dies " is an amazing, amusing thing to watch. Imagine someone like Larry King interviewing Jesus, or Buddha, and asking them these questions when they were trying to talk about the fulfillment of 6 billion people for thousands of years to come. It's humorous and sweet to watch the interaction of those two immensely divers world views. For Maharishi to have come out now, to have manifested this TV appearance, and to appear in this gross medium, after this 25-year gap, must have profound significance. No one " talked him into it " . He chose and orchestrated this event for a very specific purpose. I believe we have witnessed his second great proclamation of power (or perhaps third, if you count the inauguration of the Spiritual Regeneration Movement at Guru Dev's birthday celebration in India as the first). 5. Is it a coincidence that his proclamation went out to the world on Mothers' Day, the day of Mother Divine? 6. Did you notice that Maharishi didn't much promote TM, even given two opportunities by Larry King to tell people how to take the next step. As much as we want our friends to start, as much as we have compassion and want to share TM with those we love, Maharishi has his eye on something much vaster now - on the salvation and transformation of the world. It's my belief that, when the 8,000 (or 40,000) pundits are assembled, and start their yagyas and siddhis, we are going to see a tremendous shift on Earth, a great softening, a removal of the demonic obstructions to good life, an openness to Truth and natural law. And everyone will reap the benefit - meditator or not. If you want a shadow of a taste of what that will mean, remember back to the Cold War, the constant fear of nuclear war and annihilation between the Soviet Union and the United States, the constant posturing and threatening and manipulation of the whole world for 40 years. And then, one morning, we woke up and the Soviet Union NO LONGER EXISTED. It had simply dissolved! Without much warning, as we slept, it disappeared. It would be, as if, one morning we woke up and there was no more United States, just 50 independent nations (prior States)! The Cold War ended, the Berlin Wall came down, Germany was reunited, Eastern European dictators were overthrown... It was inconceivable to those of us who had lived through 40 years of fear. But it just melted away as Maharishi had predicted. Now imagine that kind of intellect-boggling change happening on a much broader scale, throughout the world, throughout all the world's institutions of power. Nations will wake up to the value of real knowledge; the teaching of TM and Vedic Science will be a highly recognized, highly honored profession. Governments and institutions and foundations will pay for citizens to start TM; health insurance will gladly pay for it; the VA will gladly pay for it; employers will gladly pay for it; school systems will gladly pay for it. And if the going rate to learn TM is $3000, and has been for some years past, then that is the going rate, that is what they'll pay (those governments and institutions that will gladly subsidize people learning TM). And the teachers of TM will earn significant, professional salaries based on those fees. But if the TM Movement had been charging $300 for learning TM, and suddenly tried to raise the fee to $3000 when the shift happens, that would be a transparent and unsuccessful. And those teaching TM would earn only 10% of what they should, and not have the comfortable, professional status that this knowledge demands. So Maharishi, in raising these rates, has not been cruel, has not been punishing the U.S., has not been senile, has not been ignoring those that are still suffering. He, as always, has his eye on a much bigger picture than we often do. He has a big plan, and has never let go of it, never settled for less - he is the most persevering man I've ever known or heard of. Maharishi doesn't need a few thousand more meditators right now. And those who haven't started, and can't afford the high fee, can wait a year or two without much ill effect. They've waited so many lifetimes already, another year or two won't do much harm. And they get the effect of the transformation of world consciousness anyway, for free. Right now, all focus is on creating the world shift, before the " little children " (who make the tanks and guided laser missiles - and who send the terrorist suicide bombers on their " holy " way) get any more " playful " and blow us all up. Well, that's my take on last night's appearance by Maharishi on TV. Hope my ramblings are useful to you. >Nisargadatta, " elizabeth_wells2001 " ><elizabeth_wells2001> wrote: > > > > > > The void. > > > > I walked down the road about 100 feet to the mailbox on the > > main highway yesterday. > > There was no one or nothing around. > > Perfectly quiet . > > > > The split second I stepped out the door and started > > going down the road, > > > > at least 20 dogs of every shape and color emerged > > from nowhere started running circles around me, > > playing with eachother, barking and yipping, > > rubbing up against me.... > > > > blue jays appeared out of nowhere buzzing us ... > > > > little kids suddenly filled the street, yelling " hi, tie my shoe " , > > sticking their feet out...... > > > > just before I stepped back into the house door from > > my trip to the mailbox, I looking down the road, > > and it was perfectly quite, no one or nothing around..... > > exactly how it was before I started my treck to and from the mail > > box. > > > > El > >--------------------------- > >FW from somebody: >Did you tie their shoes? > >Ans: Yep. >Never can tie too many little shoes. >Or pull too many little trucks out of mud puddles or ditches. >Dust them off and set them on their way. > > >. > _______________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
