Guest guest
consciousness: in or out? With that said Pete, I am confused. I thought enlightenment couldn't happen when there is thought. That in a state where my ego has completely dissappeared, I cannot be thinking. (ie having conversation). So here's how I thought it all worked: I understand how ridiculous it is to think I am this person I've always thought I was. I KNOW I am not this person, that it is a mistake, and that I am actually everything that appears and dissappears in front of me, and everything I think. However, I thought to exist in the state where the ego is not only forgotten but nonexistant, you must not be thinking. You must not be " in consciousness. " Or can I merely be enlightened just by knowing I am everything, and not ever confining myself to living from this body (although of course I must keep this body alive).? --- Luke Lenentine <lukelenentine wrote: ahh, now that I understand what enlightenment is, how shall I go about If you really understand, why are you here asking? Not thinking is not enlightement. Enlightenment happens in an empty mind, but don't mistake the house for the party.
