Guest guest
Dear Fox Attention on the 'I am feeling-being' works. When the attention lapses, even repeating mentally the words " I am " works. But, only one must keep at this, until all impressions are dissolved. Only one must do this incessantly tirelessly and happily, as Bhagawan Sri Ramana says. Stealing time from daily life, one must do this with faith and persistence. Like for example, I drop my daughter at her dance class in my motor bike. The dance class is for one hour. In that gap, I try to practice Self-Enquiry seating myself comfortably on the bench outside of the dance teacher's home. And so on, whenever there is a gap in one's daily life. A You may also find the following translation from Tamil of the ''very essence of the core of self-enquiry practice' useful. B That you can mutter the words 'I am' is confirmed by Papadam Song of Bhagawan Sri Ramana translated from Tamil and given below. Thanks and kind regards RK Shankar A Essence of Spiritual Effort by Saint Sri Sadhu Aum, a monk disciple of Bhagawan Sri Ramana Later Writing - 1 - Spiritual Effort and Profession - Lines 4 - 19 of Page 219 1 After sitting (down) for (practising) 'self-attention', turning the 'attentive power' on our 'existence-consciousness', it is enough to make it stay there only for 1-2 minutes. 2 Then, when it (the attentive power), slips away from 'self-attention', after staying for a while, after relaxing the 'effort' we can just be (without doing anything), (either with or without closing the eyes). 3 Once again, after 1 minute, again we can give a 'turn' to the attentive power on 'self-attention'. Now, the mind will engage itself for 1-2 minutes in 'self-attention', with a bit of enthusiasm. 4 Then, stopping the 'effort' for 1 minute and relaxing, again focus on 'self-attention'. By the self-attention that is thus attempted after intervals, it becomes conducive for each effort to get freshness and a new strength. B. Paragraph 5 of Papadam Song by Bhagawan Sri Ramana Incessantly pounding upon the stone-mind, unwaveringly with the inwardly facing (iron) pestle as 'I-I', with weariness continually ceasing, (and) with abiding happiness, with the (wooden or stainless steel) rolling pin of calmness, on the (wooden) board of equanimity, try rolling the (Black Gram Flour into) Papadam (,frying, then serving the Papadam on a plate, and) - eating that (Papadam), exhaust your desire (for the things of the world). > " fox " <www955 > how to do " I AM " ??? > Nisarga always stresses the importance of " I am " >1 Do I have to repeat the words 'I am' constantly like a mantra? > 2 focus on " FEELING BEING " ) ???
