Guest guest
I used to be very humble. In fact, even now, I have to fumble before I can find my ego. [Ask my workers!] However, now that I know who I really am, why should I be humble? I will be cocky when I want to be. [i know, I know.] I don’t know what part I am supposed to play … that of a humble seeker or an arrogant finder? Who cares! You think I give a damn what you non-existent characters think? Oops, I keep on forgetting that I am a fictional character too! Will the real Jan Shady please stand up, please stand up … What is all this nonsense, Jan? Well I think it is a touch of Balsekar. In fact it is a lot of Balsekar. Can you believe this guy is starting to make sense to me! He is also having a strange effect on me … the surroundings seem a little hazy, a little unreal! [Maybe there is some hope for me, yet? :-) ] I promise to make Balsekar’s quotations more palatable for you. Very soon I am going to rearrange them into different categories [perhaps with some comments and related quotes from Balsekar’s guru Nisargadatta]. Though I warn you his words are more powerful than the local ‘kill-me-quick’ illicit brew! Keep looking into your SufiMystic folder.

[Ask my workers!] You are OK, dude, I like you. > > However, now that I know who I really am, why should > I be humble? I will be > cocky when I want to be. [i know, I know.] No problem. Let it flow. Follow no pattern. Whatever you do, is what it was supposed to happen, as long as you don't hurt others. > > I don’t know what part I am supposed to play … that > of a humble seeker or > an arrogant finder? Improvise! The universe is a Jazz concern, and you my man, are the lead singer. Well, sort off. > Who cares! I love being a fictional character, now that I know, I'm the writer of the play too. Here is when the joy of acting comes alive. Doesn't it? No memorizing of lines anymore. No sweating over the keyboard. Whatever you say or do, is the play. > Will the real Jan Shady please stand up, please > stand up. Stand up where? To be distinguish from whom, by whom? The unknown trying to perceive the unknown sees itself as the other. That's the perceived duality in the unity. Get it? Quote all you want, it won't get any clearer than that. Guest guest
would you like an extra chair for your ego? since you mentioned sufism let me point that although there is no particular way for a sufi mystic to act, the end result is often observed by others (in your case, it'd be your workers) as " purity of the heart " in you. now you can call that conceptual bs but then again it's another sufi myth. advaita teachings, like all the other mystical teachings, it's a borrowed thorn you use to remove the thorn in your foot. once you remove the thorn from your foot, what do you do with the thorn in your hand? often people get stuck with this new thorn. can you throw this new thorn? hur Nisargadatta, Jan Sultan <swork@m...> wrote: > I used to be very humble.
