Guest guest
are we trying to be somebody, the Self, Love, Consciousness, Brahman or Emptiness...and if so, are our attempts a way to fine tune and convince ourselves and others of this belief? if this is so, how does one dismantle the delusion? Catching myself hanging on to the ideals such as Consciousness, Brahman, Love, Emptiness, God is the lucky(??) instant when the whole fabric becomes so thin and transparent i can see right through it. what does that leave me with though? nothing? it does not feel nothing. it feels like something. You are right, it doesn't feel like nothing. It feels like all there is. That is,as long as you don't try to grab it. If you try to think about it,it becomes nothing, an unknown. When all mental activity ceases, when there is absolute rest, silence and attention, it's there. It is your Self, but it will be forever unknown. It can't fathom itself. It's joy and mystery without end. Nothing that anyone can say will do it justice. Nothing can prepare you for the shock of facing that. Oh shit! That changes everything, doesn't it? What do I do now? That was my reaction. What was yours? Pete HotJobs - Search Thousands of New Jobs http://www.hotjobs.com

Guest guest
What does that mean: something is nothing...nothing is something...?? I mean, terrror, war, starvation, pain, depression, accidents...and so on! So, what does it mean? fox - Davè Nisargadatta Friday, August 16, 2002 1:25 AM Re: what it's like to be... something IS nothing... nothing IS something... something IS... nothing IS... Guest guest
Beloved Friend, It means simply That! Form is emptiness... emptiness is form. Something and nothing are but two sides of the same coin... and that coin IS Consciousness... there is no ‘other’... All these ‘horrible things’ you speak of simply happen. There is no ‘one’ responsible and there is no ‘thing’ that any ‘one’ can ‘do’ or ‘not do’ to affect or change these ‘things’ that simply and spontaneously happen. It is ‘your’ involvement with and ‘your’ resistance to all these ‘things’ that results in ‘your suffering’. Involvement happens... resistance happens... suffering happens... none of these ‘things’ are ‘yours’. There is no ‘thing’ that ‘you’ or any ‘one’ else can ‘do’ or ‘not do’ to end ‘your involvement’ and ‘your acceptance’ of or ‘your resistance’ to or with these ‘things’. Acceptance of what IS, in this present moment, IS the only freedom from ‘things’, and THAT can only happen if Consciousness, or God, so wills THAT to happen. There simply IS no ‘other’ way... Two highly recommended reads, both available online: The Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain http://www.shsu.edu/~eng_wpf/authors/Twain/Mysterious-Stranger.htm A Course in Consciousness by Stanley Sobottka http://faculty.virginia.edu/consciousness/ Namastè on 8/16/02 1:53 AM, fox at feel wrote: What does that mean: something is nothing...nothing is something...??
